I can't see now the Tickitus deal was legal in any country. How can you buy tickets from a company by giving money to another company that has nothing to do with the company who sells the tickets? To me, the debt should lie with Craig White's company. Whether his company gets the money for the tickets form the fans is another matter.

Could we sue him?

So what is their real financial situation? From their accounts it seems they made a small profit while reducing their debt from 9M to 7M - all despite having a much larger playing squad than us...

Rangers and Dunfermline reach agreement on £85k owed to Pars
calscot replied to BlueMazza's topic in Rangers Chat
I think there has been a point made that Dunfermline are not a creditor for this money as it was never loaned to Rangers. Rangers were just a holding agent for Dunfermline's money. It is not a debt - it is their money and it has been argued that withholding it would actually be theft. I for one am glad we're paying this in full and embarrassed it took so long. -
Seems they want to hammer Rangers while protecting themselves in case they go into admin. I'll bet they want this brought in next season... I'm pretty confident Rangers won't be the last SPL club to go into admin and Hearts are bound to be there at some point. Once Rangers are out of admin I think we'll be financial stable for a long time to come. You just have to look at Celtic to see where coming close to the brink can really turn your fortunes around.

To be honest, the one thing that gets me about the tax bill, shouldn't it be the PLAYERS who pay their income tax?
-
I wish they would stop using Flower of Scotland as an example - there is absolutely NOTHING offensive in it that can even be compared with anything. It's even incredibly respectful to the antagonist in the song who in history invaded our country and acted like a evil tyrant. And not once does it mention the English never mind any animosity towards them - or anyone! Not even Edward. You'd have to be a complete dunce to find that song offensive.

How much is Murray Park worth in the open market? Seems to me we need to sell any "non-essential" real-estate that can raise a significant amount. It would be sad and make things difficult but when you're fighting for survival then it's always better to survive than cling on to your possessions.

I don't want to have a personal go, but can people please explain any anonymous links they put on the site? It's worse when it's audio or video in general it's incredibly annoying. You have to consider peoples' work or people around them, download limits and if nothing else an explanation gives them a chance to decide if it's interesting enough to use up their time.

Build My Gallows is now â??likely to be deemed chargeableâ?
calscot replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
It all smacks of entrapment. However, why people want to sing these dreadful, anachronistic songs that have nothing to with Rangers, football or even Scotland, is way beyond my understanding. I still thing the biggest way to beat Celtic on this would be to forget all the religious and Irish baggage and concentrate on football. The spotlight would then be completely on them and I could see them implode with the indignation. However, our support seem to be great at seeing the minor flaws of legendary managers like Walter Smith and yet are blind to their own idiocy and incompetence of biblical proportions. Mote and beam springs to mind but I fear many of the so called prods in our support will most likely be clueless to that bible reference. -
Perhaps the messenger's MO makes them highly suspect? There is a vast difference between someone who delivers the facts and someone with a sandwich board which reads "The end of the world is nigh." For me, you have totally blotted your copybook by using overblown presumption, bombast and sanctimony instead of facts, evidence and reason. I for one don't trust anything you say.

Rangers squad reject request to play rest of season without pay
calscot replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I think we know very well that most players only think of their bank balance first and last... -
Sounds like you are more loyal to the underlying company than the actual abstract entity of Rangers. Does your loyalty to your wife die after seven years as after that time each persons' molecules have completely changed to new ones? There is more to Rangers than a PLC and indeed the club existed before the company was formed.

To be honest, I kind of find that worse...

I have absolutely no sympathy for the situation that Ticketus are in as they actually created the problem, immorally, at our expense.

We may be debt free but we'd have to pay the liquidators for Ibrox, Murray Park and the Albion car park etc which would presumably cost more than the original debts that Craig Whyte inherited with the exception of the potential debt from the big tax case. If Murray Park is on site ripe for development, then I'd assume we'd lose it. Then there is working capital and all sorts of other start up costs. Our credit rating would also be through the floor and many business would presumably refuse to deal with us unless the previous company's debts to them were paid. If you discount the big tax case for the moment then buying the assets and setting up a new company seems to be a lot more expensive to me than the 21M odd needed to pay off SDM, Lloyds and the wee tax bill. So it seems to me that the only advantage of administration and maybe liquidation is to rid ourselves of the big tax case, should we lose.

That is a fair enough synopsis of the word but can we not just act like mature adults? If the word is banned because of certain connotations, are we that pathetic that we are upset at the loss of a word - so much so we HAVE to break the law in a petty, pouted lipped gesture? Even if people are incapable of watching a football match without recourse to shouting and singing about unconnected political and social problems (which is pretty weird in itself), do they not have a vocabulary that they can dig into to find a more suitable word which cannot be argued as offensive? Here's one: terrorist. Either I'm vastly intelligent or there are far two many half-wits around that can't even come up with that one. For all the complaints about how shite our managers are - playing players out of position, using old and passed it favourite players that no longer do a job, playing boring and ugly football, the fans are infinitely more guilty of the same type of crime - singing words and songs out of place, using ancient and passed it favourite songs that no longer do a job, and ultimately making a boring and ugly atmosphere. At least the managers are intelligent enough not play banned players... It's time for fans to live up to their own high standards they hold for others.

I very much doubt you have any idea what the word, "fact" means. Please, can you just stop your trolling?

The problem is one of accountability. One man can be great if he runs the club well - but if he doesn't who can stop him in his tracks? What is to stop him treating the club as an extension of his ego, or a toy, or as a profit making business? Even a consortium stops one man's whims from dictating the future of the club. It's all very well saying, "I'd be happy with the right man" but how is that much different from saying, "Who needs democracy, I'd be happy with the right dictator"? Instead of relying on a throw of a dice coming up lucky, I'd prefer to have inbuilt checks and balances.

Yes, but what's the point of making money if you can't spend some of it? Most entrepreneurs like to make money and yet drive something like a Ferrari or Aston instead of a Prius or Fiesta - or perhaps an old, white Rolls Royce they could hire out to weddings at the weekend...
-
Not a character assassination, more like a humorous dig at him for what myself, and many other people, remember his one main flaw - not turning up in every game and often looking disinterested. I thought that was why we sold him and why many were not sorry to see him go. If you have a different recollection about him then fair enough, I respect that.

BTW Andrew Little has scored as many as Sebo in less than a 30% of the number of games played.
-
Can I add that Sebo had a worse scoring record than McCulloch...

Don't know how Buffel would get into the team with the wage and appearance money he was on - and he's not exactly a guy you can rely on in a crisis... In fact he's not a guy you can rely on when the weather is sunny, the economy is booming, Rangers aren't in crisis and everything is hunky dory.
