  1. Sounds like Robinho at City. Didn't really do it away from home but at the CoM stadium he was sensational.
  2. Not today we didn't. And not for some matches we haven't. I don't like the idea of scapegoating players, but I am of the firm conviction that Weiss has been going downhill since his debut. Today he was awful again. I don't know if the SPL just doesn't suit him, but he's like a total sand dancer who goes nowhere and invariably loses the ball. I know I'll get shot down in flames for this but he's just not doing it for us.
  3. Conference level is about the quality of the SPL, save a few sides who might cope in League 3. Rangers and Celtic are miles ahead albeit themselves are at about lower Championship level.
  4. Both the OF are, this season especially, vastly ahead of everyone else in the SPL.
  5. I didn't say they weren't bigots, I said it wasn't their biggest problem.
  6. Think Fabianski is the Arsenal #1 these days.
  7. They're not bigots so much, their problem is with glorifying terrorism. That's Celtic's big big problem and I await the day they start to get rightfully persecuted for it.
  8. Given Celtic's biggest cultural problem (outwith their paranoia and siege mentality) is their fans' glorification of terrorism, particularly Irish against British, I'm not surprised they'd ban the selling of poppies - would you trust the fans of that club to behave themselves towards the sellers and each other? In saying that Reid is a genuine feni@n bastard, so he's probably on the majority of the supporters' side anyway.
  9. Taking a chance on him? He's no 21 year spring chicken untested in more advanced competitions, he's a 28 year old who's done it at the highest levels - for his country, for his club both domestically and in all European competition. He is capable of playing for some of the best clubs in Europe. We'd do very well to retain him come February 1st.
  10. McGregor is quickly becoming our most valuable asset, and has turned his image around pretty well. Smith's said today that we cannot sell any of our players in January, so if we *were* to get sell El-Shaggo I imagine it would be for a Scottish transfer record of £10M+ because in this climate he's easily worth that.
  11. As an aside, at the moment in England it's the big 4 plus Spurs and City.
  12. Unlike in England where invariably it's UTD, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea who are the heavyweights, in Spain there are 2 main ones and in the past decade a hundred teams have vied for the 3rd spot - La Coruna, Villarreal, Valencia, Sevilla, Atletico to name just 5 have found themselves in the CL. My point? You have 2 top teams in Spain, and the rest constantly change. So I'm not sure any side out with the top 2 in Spain is automatically one of the world's best teams. Not when they keep changing so much.
  13. I didn't say Valencia are over rated. I said *this* Valencia are over rated. The past one with Silva and Villa was a fine team. This one had a bright start to the season (excluding drawing with Atletico and losing to UTD, and drawing with us and drawing with Zaragoza) but now maybe their results are starting to illustrate how good they are. Put simply, Sevilla last season were a MUCH better team than this Valencia.
  14. I await Totti charging into this thread to tell me Valencia were never being over rated.
  15. I thought Weiss was by far our poorest player today - kept going nowhere with the ball before being relieved of it rather easily. Miller wasn't awful, just rather starved of decent service.
  16. Best midfielder imo this season has been McCulloch, with Davis and Edu second behind him jointly. Davis took a while to get going this year, and I've explained how I feel at the moment about Edu. Who, in case you all think I have a hard on for 'hating' on him, is imo the reason we won 51. If he hadn't been in the run in, I really doubt we'd have won that title.
  17. A tangible explanation of this so-called praise. I'm not being hard on him, because I really like him, but in the European games especially and even a couple of times today he got caught on the ball dallying or passed to an opposite shirt. He failed to complete many passes at all in the first half at Old Trafford - I know this because I was watching him. He'd get robbed of the ball without making his mind up what to do with it. I'm not sure where the 'praise' is coming from but in Europe I've been unconvinced by him. Outwith his goal against Valencia I thought he was our weakest player. But it's just my opinion and I hope he proves me wrong like Lafferty is proving many of you guys wrong this season.
  18. My complaint about Edu hasn't been domestic - he's more than good enough for the SPL, and proved that again today. I just feel he's not been so polished in the CL, and I am actually a big fan of his.
  19. I was hoping for a tangible reason as to why.
  20. Yes, keeps giving the ball away and dallying on possession. Obviously the tone of your post suggests you couldn't disagree with me more if you tried, so how is it you feel he's been on form in the CL?
  21. For graft I rate McCulloch more highly, and prefer a midfield of him and Davis.
  22. Bad luck for the guy but he's been a bad signing. Had a run of games at the start of the season and looked rusty and off the pace. Hard enough worker and willing to get stuck in but I had high hopes for him and have been rather let down by him.
  23. Can safely say I've never heard it pronounced that way.
  24. I disagree. I think the form he showed during the run in of 52 was his best form. I feel he's been below his best this year and has been rather out of his depth in the CL. JMO.
  25. Is it not Cr-oy-ff?
