  1. I wouldn't be fond to see him back but he's just being a modern day mercenary footballer. Arguably, just like Jelavic was to Rapid Wien in wanting his move to us, presumably for more money - the club and fans were left horrified by his actions while we laughed it off and were merely glad he wanted to join us. Footballers have a talent and that talent has an obscene going rate. They no longer, or rarely, care who they play for, and their morals are in the sewers. Miller's no different, and while I don't wish him success or failure, I merely feel he's given us a good few years in the SPL and has now fucked off. Good for him, I no longer care about anything he does.
  2. This forum is so fickle about Lafferty. When I was defending him you were all slagging me and him off. Then this season I saw that calming down and dare I say it praise being given him. Now he's back to being maligned. It really does seem that opinion is as consistent as the wind among fans at times.
  3. I guess we've seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiovIZUQpmo On arriving in Turkey he's pretty much forgotten he ever played for anyone else. He did us a great turn in the SPL, was shite in Europe, and is now as good as gone. With the attitude he seems to have, which is very mercenary to say the least, I'm not sure I'd want him back at Ibrox now.
  4. It's true that we can hardly empathise with the guy given he's a millionaire who lives the dream that we mortals can only fantasise about. But the reason we're repeatedly being told to look at it from his perspective is to try and understand why he hasn't just signed immediately, which is something we all reckon we'd do given the chance.
  5. That's how awful he's been. I genuinely forget we signed him.
  6. Up front we have Jelavic, Naisy, Fleck, and of course Lafferty. We don't have an embarrassment of riches but we're really not that bad up front.
  7. Of League 1, right? I think Papac is a bit of a cult figure, a modern day Dave MacPherson if you like, who really isn't particularly great but is fairly well respected, has always conducted himself well, and occasionally puts in a really good shift. Which is fair enough, but some folk are overating him through misty eye affection rather than because he's truly special. He's a staple performer, who came from a very poor team in a very poor country for football and cost us about £500k. And we've received precisely what we paid for.
  8. This boy is troubled and seriously damaged goods. He carries more baggage than Glasgow Airport. I heard before all this stuff happened, when we were first in for him, that he was a bam who was always getting in fights and trouble. That seems to be true. Whether he's innocent or guilty is almost irrelevant - serious trouble follows him everywhere, and we've only just managed to get shagger under control. I suggest bringing in another troubled soul would be a bad idea.
  9. With our status anything but assured, and the likes of Miller wanting away, it's commendable to see such apparent loyalty from some players like Papac and Naisy. tbh, Papac is a fairly mediocre player who has been at a consistent level of 'ok' since he got over that early sticky spell here, but in this financial climate replacing him wouldn't be easy seeing as we can barely afford a Chewitt.
  10. Always had talent, but simply wasn't coached right at Ibrox. Always trying Hollywood passes which rarely came off, and appeared to lack the basics of the game. Also had a nasty thuggish side to his game. Looks like Holloway has managed to get rid of the majority of the rubbish from him, and has cultivated his talent well. Doesn't often happen in football that an average player becomes far more, but it has in this case.
  11. In the last OF game, he's the reason we lost - well other than our own horrible display I guess.
  12. Where does it say we've accepted a bid from Fiorentina?
  13. Walter, stay I created this page on Facebook - I'm not saying McCoist will fail, just that I don't know what to expect. And I'd sooner trust Walter, and what I know, than change to a new charge who's untested. But I am hoping whoever is in charge will have money. If not, we're entering a very tough period.
  14. I'd say his form is down to Walter alone. He got the best out of him in the Scotland setup, and he's done the same again at Rangers.
  15. He's 31 and out of contract in the summer. We really can't expect to get much. Certainly not the 1.8M we paid 3 years ago.
  16. BBC say Fiorentina will pay for Miller now as a replacement for Mutu.
  17. Then I guess Boyd was too. Difference is Miller has never sworn allegiance to us and portrayed himself as a die hard fan before then buggering off. He's just a good player who's done a job for us and is now looking for a good deal to see him through the twilight of his career - and we can't afford to give him that. I don't really have a problem with him - just regret that, frankly, we can no longer afford him.
  18. Just meant the one whose views you read online and the one you drink with at the pub. Nothing sinister implied.
  19. I don't know if it's just this forum because I don't use any other Rangers boards, but some of the views are unusual to say the least at times. Is the online fan really such a different animal to the one in the real world?
  20. Fair enough but when they act like a stuck record, progressive debate is pointless. It's like blood from a stone, as if they're just muttering to themselves in a darkened room and reason isn't invited.
  21. And yet he gets people replying to his drivel all the time. I stopped responding to him maybe a year ago.
  22. I haven't disagreed with every post you've ever made but I really wouldn't take pride in the above stance.
  23. Didn't see this fucking thread being started by 'Totti' when we horsed the bastards 3-1 on their own patch. You get bad shiting results, it happens. And Sunday was one - bad day at the office. Nothing more. I hate people turning on the manager and the team after one bad game. Ugh.
  24. Ah, didn't see this thread. Anyway, oddly I'd take Mehmet.
  25. Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere or if there's some transfer thread I know nothing about, but apparently we've been linked to Mehmet on a free, and the Daily Record have Marseille in for Miller for a cut price £500k.
