I was serious. Where it comes to the whole Lafferty/Boyd issue, we will always be on opposite sides. I honestly think you believe what you're telling yourself here. There is a section of the support, mostly on online forums truth be told, who hate Lafferty - and that will never change because in 2 years it hasn't despite him delivering on plenty of occasions. I also find they're the same ones who adored/adore Boyd.
-
In your case yeah. I don't believe a word of your quite honorable attempts at being magnanimous. You probably even believe yourself that you'll change your mind if you see appropriate evidence. But then you wouldn't hear a word against Kris Boyd so I'm not going to bother reasoning with you on this. Oh, and 'telling it like it is' still equals an opinion even if you have someone else agreeing with you. So kindly don't convey your view as fact. For the record, I am not a huge fan of Lafferty, I just don't like him being unfairly judged in ways others aren't - I support him like I support all players in our colours. He gets way more abuse than most.

I'd have been disappointed if you hadn't groaned at me S_A. Predictable as always

I think it's more about supporting him as a Rangers player than exaggerating what he's given us. Ach, you know it's true, you don't like him, many like you don't and will never be convinced. He has done quite a few times, but this thread is evidence of how little that matters. He is the club scapegoat and will be till he leaves.

I feel Lafferty is judged far more harshly than any other Rangers player due to a few silly things in the press and the odd on pitch misdemeanour. Truth is he's contributed a fair amount as a player now, but his detractors will always say 'here's hoping he proves me wrong' - which is a generous version of 'I don't like him, I never will like him, and no matter what he does, I'm sticking by that opinion of him'. He's no Hateley, but he's done plenty of good things. But that doesn't matter in the eyes of many.

I was told he played yesterday as a RW.

How's our brother Spaniard playing?
-
Not a player I rate highly, and while I hope he's fit again soon and I'd never wish ill upon him or anyone ele, I can't really see us missing him one bit. If he has potential, I don't see it.

That's too ridiculous to be real.

Did for us in the CL in 2008. Miller's terrific but has been quite average in the CL. But this isn't really about the CL is it. It's about the OF competing in the Championship as things currently stand, and Middlesbrough's current influx of OF players gives some idea of where the OF might stand there. We struggle at times in the SPL. There are much much much better teams in the Championship than Hamilton. As for us competing against the bottom of the EPL, you really are having a laugh.
-
Teams in the Championship don't get a £40M head start. You seem to be confusing the EPL with the Championship. But you're right, we can't compete. Not even with most teams in the Championship.

Yes, but Bougherra could have picked a better time to lose form. Not that there's a good time to lose form, but preceding a match V Utd? He's the one defender we consider a cut above.
-
Thomson, McDonald, Robson and possibly Anus.
-
Bougherra picked a shit time to have a bad game against Hamilton. Responsible for their goal, he was shakey and made a few key errors which I thought he'd eradicated previously. Bougherra is the one defender we look at for a level of quality Weir etc aren't capable of, but I recall the CL last season and Boogie was frankly anything but imperious in it. I am concerned what is going to happen if he has another of his untimely stinkers. Because Weir will get exposed beyond words.
-
True. And I hope both of you are meaning the Championship as well. We would clearly struggle.
-
It's not pointless, it's a valid way of comparing the upper sphere of the SPL against the upper levels of England. Boro have a major OF influence and are struggling, which suggests as things stand, the SPL really is miles behind the Championship and the OF are barely at the level of it. As for ACTUALLY going there, sure, we might get better players etc, but that's not really what I'm getting at. Thanks to WGS' hardon for OF players, we can see what might happen if the current squads of the OF joined the Championship. And it shows how far behind we are.

We're gonna shock UTD? What we gonna do, moon at them?

This has been a question we've pondered for some considerable time. How would Rangers and Celtic actually do in England, be it the Championship or the EPL. Well, for the first time, we seem to have a very, very crude guide. A Middlesbrough side mostly made up of some of the best of former Rangers and Celtic: Boyd, Robson, Flood, McManus, Aliadiere, Killen, Thomson and McDonald is struggling in the Championship 5th from bottom. Is this some indication of how either OF team would actually do in that division?
-
I liked it.

A good defender but who showed today that he's quite fallible at times. His ambitions outweigh his ability, and I'd say he's found his level in the SPL and should be fairly content with his lot. There's a good reason the biggest team he'd played for before us was Charlton.
-
Sounds like Hearts are still in this game though.

Another fairly struggling display, albeit most of our players didn't do themselves justice today. Beattie was a signing I was happy with, but I have to say he just hasn't impressed me apart from his work ethic. As for his record and career up till now, tbh he could have been the ghost of Van Basten, but if he's not playing like that now, what does it matter?
-
Yes, been a very very quiet start to the season by him. But he's prone to having spells like this, before then having a cracking spell where he looks like our best player. The one surprise is he's having a spell like this in his favoured position.

She's having an affair, I'm watching HD footie on TV. Everyone's happy
