  1. Dunfermline threat to sue SFA and SPA if Dundee replace Rangers in top flight By Brian Marjoribanks PUBLISHED: 23:00, 15 July 2012 | UPDATED: 23:00, 15 July 2012 Comments (0) Share Threat: John Yorkston Threat: John Yorkston Scottish football was last night facing further chaos after Dunfermline threatened to sue the SFA and SPL if Dundee replace Rangers in the top flight. SPL clubs are due to vote on Monday on whether the relegated Pars or First Division runners-up Dundee should take the place of the fallen Ibrox giants. But Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston has accused the game's governing body of 'a carve-up' after the leak of an email from SFA chief executive Stewart Regan in which he said Dundee would be invited to join the SPL. Yorkston, who insisted his club will consult their lawyers if today's vote favours Dundee, told Sportsmail: 'Dunfermline are not invited to the SPL meeting but I'm not sure there is any point in going anyway as it seems a decision has been made behind our backs several weeks ago. 'It looks very much like it's a carve-up and it's scandalous, even if Mr Regan thinks it was in the best interests of Scottish football. 'If the decision goes against us today we'll have no choice but to speak to our lawyers.' Sportsmail has also learned that, although a decision is expected to be made on Monday, league rules dictate it will be 14 days before Dundee or Dunfermline can be formally voted in as members. That means the earliest both can learn their official fate will be two days after the SFL season kicks off with Ramsdens Cup ties on July 28. A senior SPL source said: 'Even if it is decided which club to invite, the rules say it's 14 days before clubs can vote on a special resolution to rubberstamp it. 'Of course all 12 clubs could agree to a short-notice meeting to push it through but that's not happened once in the 14-year history of the SPL. 'So it's entirely possible the new member would learn its fate just days before the SPL kicks off. 'Also, if oldco Rangers don't play ball and willingly agree to hand over their SPL share for transfer to the new SPL member that could complicate things further.' Dunfermline's threat of legal action heaps further pressure on Regan after SFL clubs voted newco Rangers into the Third Division. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...#ixzz20jZ73gC1
  2. STEWART Regan and Neil Doncaster will walk up the Hampden steps today like condemned men trudging towards the gallows. The leaders of the SFA and SPL know their time could be short. One call for a vote of no confidence in SFA chief Regan has already been rejected but there is no doubt clubs and fans are blaming the two leaders for much of the chaos. If they are to turn this tide of disapproval theyâ??ll have to prevent a whispering campaign becoming a clamour for their removal. If theyâ??re smart theyâ??ll start today by doing the right thing. Regan could begin by apologising for having tried to manipulate clubs into voting Rangers (we can drop all the newco stuff now because they will be called Rangers) into the First Division. Apparently he used Hibernianâ??s Rod Petrie to help spread the word. Go figure. Anyway, while SPL chairmen listened, the lower-league clubs, when it was their turn to be advised, didnâ??t. They withstood the pressure and decided the Ibrox club must begin at the very bottom. Fair enough but there will be casualties as broadcasters and corporate partners queue up to renegotiate their deals now that Rangers wonâ??t be seen at the top level for at least three years. From the beginning it was my view that Rangers should be sent to the bottom tier for the mismanagement and non-payment of taxes which helped tip them over, but the release of figures showing the potential carnage that might be visited upon a handful of clubs changed everything. Integrity, if that really ever was one of the main drivers in this sorry tale of crime and punishment, had to be combined with reality. A compromise solution should have come into play because the stakes were so high. Even if you wanted to allow for exaggeration or a degree of scaremongering by knocking several million off the £16m the authorities insist will be lost to the game annually during Rangersâ?? top-flight absence, the risks in refusing to accommodate them in Division One were too high. The SFL should have grabbed the opportunity to become the architects of a new way by giving the SPL what they desired â?? Rangers in the First â?? in return for radical and intelligent changes to the gameâ??s structure and culture. Having said that, let me also stress that had Rangers not been punished there should have been no thought of compromise. But the fact is they have taken a kicking and I donâ??t think we, as a nation, have been shown in a complimentary light. Many fans were driven only by a need to make sure fair play applied and they are blameless but thereâ??s little doubt old scores were being settled by others. There was a nastiness about the way some fans, and clubs, lined up to have a go. It was a pack mentality which made us appear brutal and cruel, and yet there are still some who donâ??t believe Rangers have suffered enough. Regan might be one of them because the SFA continue to insist Charles Green and his investors agree to accept responsibility and punishment without appeal for any as yet undiscovered â??crimesâ? which previous owners may have committed. They are to agree never to return to court to contest sanctions and are being ordered to give up a number of trophies won in the EBT years. What was once a raft of sanctions has become a barge almost too wide to navigate up the Clyde yet around the end of April, when Bill Miller was close to buying Rangers, his â??incubatorâ? club was to be allowed into the SPL. His people believed that was all but agreed and while sanctions were attached they were â??softâ? in comparison to the ones the SFA and SPL are still trying to staple on to Greenâ??s concern. Petrie was involved in the talks with Millerâ??s people before the American backed out so perhaps the Hibs chief, who has been a go-between for Regan and Green, could explain what has changed. Who decided the punishments had to be tougher? Regan? Doncaster? Petrie himself? Or was it someone else? Frankly, it shouldnâ??t matter because itâ??s time Green stood up for his club and told Regan, Doncaster and Petrie where to stick further sanctions. Shouldnâ??t be too difficult for a Yorkshireman and he might also make it clear the only thing the SFA boss should be handing out now is Rangersâ?? association membership so they can get on with the business of starting over in Division Three. If Rangers werenâ??t important to the gameâ??s finances clubs wouldnâ??t be fearing closure without them so, if heâ??s smart, Green will use this to his advantage by making his own demands which reflect the wishes of Rangers fans. Especially if he wants to move those season tickets. And if Regan is sharp heâ??ll dispense with the courier, Petrie, and blow away all doubts about Rangersâ?? future by stating categorically theyâ??ll be in the Third Division. He should do that first thing today before sprinting to the office of his fellow Englishman, Doncaster, and telling him to wise up as well. Neil has to make sure his SPL clubs veer away from this nonsense of SPL2. These two men must realise that, in the eyes of many clubs and fans, they are damaged goods. They allowed the process of dealing with Rangers to get away from them and donâ??t have much time left to regain control through bringing their squabbling, panic-stricken members to heel. If they want to remain in office somehow today Regan and Doncaster have to end the chaos. SPL clubs have been talking and meeting all weekend desperately seeking ways of minimising the effects of last Fridayâ??s SFL decision. As well as SPL2 it has also been suggested the top flight might decide to run with only 11 clubs instead of allowing Dunfermline, relegated last season, or Dundee in to make up the dozen. That would be yet another act of folly. There wouldnâ??t be a vacancy for Rangers in the SFL and, if they couldnâ??t join the SPL, the Ibrox club would have nowhere to go. Green would be well within his rights to sell the assets and get himself as far away as possible from this madness which would be even more destructive if Rangers were wiped from the face of the game. With Kilmarnock, Dundee United, Motherwell, and St Mirren facing closure if their TV payments are slashed the level of panic and fear is understandable, but as they all run around like men on fire they have to remember they charted this course themselves. First, they allowed their fans to decide and then they asked the SFL to make a decision. But now theyâ??re bleating that theyâ??ve somehow been turned over because a deal to put Rangers in the First Division was supposed to have been agreed. Perhaps they need to turn their wrath on the men who gave them that impression in the first place rather than scream at the smaller clubs. If they continue to do that, or attempt to undermine Fridayâ??s vote, theyâ??ll just enrage the SFL further. Ways of coping with the savage cuts which will be made must be found and people need to calm down and keep their heads. Especially Regan and Doncaster.

  4. This for me,why has he not said who his backers are?,now more than ever!
  5. I'm getting more and more concerned that this chunt Regan is going to try and suspend us for this season!,we are only a couple of weeks away from the start of the season and still we have no resolution and no players.
  6. Anyone from gersnet going?
  7. RANGERS supporters must beware of any knee jerk reaction which would see them hand over their hard earned cash to Charles Green in the mistaken belief it was a declaration of faith in their club in its troubled times. They would do well to remember that is exactly what they did last summer in an act of blind faith and devotion to Craig Whyte. It is surely beyond belief the three major fansâ?? organisations, the Association, Assembly and Trust would be so irresponsible as to give their backing to Charles Greenâ??s increasingly desperate pleas to get his mitts on their money? Where would that leave their credibility if this whole thing, this ownership of Rangers which is shrouded in secrecy and mystery, went pear shaped? Looking very silly indeed. At best. At worst, they may even find themselves accused by suspicious people of colluding with Charles Green in conning them. Of course after watching the battles with the now totally discredited Scottish Football Association and a Scottish Premier League which is just about to be wheeled into the intensive care ward, Rangers supporters want to rally to the colours. Rangers supporters are in defiant mood and believe if they pack Ibrox with 40,000 for Third Division matches they will be sticking two fingers up to the SPL. They are right in that belief. But it does not mean they have to buy season tickets and give Charles Green a war chest he does not need to run Rangers in the Third Division. Fans can still go to Ibrox and support Rangers. They can do so on a match-to-match basis. In fact I know of many who have declared their intention to do just that, including at least one pal from the £5,000-a-year Members Section. That is surely the better and more prudent course of action. Supporters can show their defiance and continue to support their team, while still resolutely refusing to back Charles Green. The reason for adopting such a course of action remains clear, though in the stink surrounding the vindictive campaign against Rangers by the SFA and SPL, the question of Rangers ownership has been forgotten. Something Charles Green no doubt secretly gives thanks for. But since Friday and the momentous Scottish Football League vote which has sent Rangers into the Third Division, nothing regarding the ownership of the club has changed or became clearer. Charles Green still steadfastly refuses to name the men who hide behind lawyers, banks and investments trust and who hold the purse strings inside Ibrox. The men who would have first claim on any season ticket money fans might hand over. It is an utterly disgraceful situation which exists inside Ibrox. Nobody knows who owns Rangers. Why will these people not reveal themselves and present themselves for scrutiny? What is it they are hiding? For as sure as night follows day, when somebody hides it is simply because they have something to hide. Is there a link, perchance, between Zeus Capital, who have two of their top men sitting on the Sevco board inside the Blue Room, and Ticketus? Remember Ticketus? Is it really reasonable to believe Ticketus have just walked away and written off the £24M they were conned out of by Craig Whyte? They still want their money back. And what better way for them to get their hands on that money than to infiltrate the Rangers boardroom and start a campaign to urge Rangers supporters to cough up their cash and fill their coffers? Which is why Rangers supporters should be wary of buying season tickets and stuffing the coffers with cash. They should think long and hard before doing it. They should demand Charles Green produce paperwork to prove who the real owners are. That he should unmask the men who hide behind the Blue Pitch Holdings name who with 23per cent of the equity are the biggest players in this game. Only when all of that paperwork is produced, scrutinsed by a top legal team, working on behalf of the Association, Assembly and Trust, and given the okay, would these fansâ?? organisations be in any position to tell their members to buy season tickets. Until then, the ghost of Craig Whyte, the spectre of Ticketus and that £24M looms large over Charles Green and his gang who are inside the Blue Room with the keys to the Trophy Room. With the real powerbrokers, the names cowering in secrecy behind Blue Pitch Holdings, still hiding their identities. The real question isâ?¦â?¦If they have nothing to hide, why are they hiding?
  8. Stewart Gilmour admits the Grim Reaper is set to come calling on an SPL that is paying for sins of the past. The St Mirren chairman could hear the death knell being sounded from his Troon home after Friday’s SFL vote sent newco Rangers into the Third Division. At least five top-flight clubs now face being placed into administration due to the financial catastrophe created by a decision Gilmour believes was borne out of REVENGE. The Angel of Death could get to work on those sides before next month is out and the Buddies supremo insists if a routine SPL income distribution payment of £645,000 isn’t made on August 6 then it’s a Doomsday scenario. The SPL’s broadcast deals look set to be renegotiated now Rangers are no longer in the top flight so league chiefs are predicting a huge drop in income. He said: “Clubs were expecting to receive their commercial income as per normal in the first week in August but, with the way things are shaping up, that’s not going to be there. “If you asked me whether a handful of clubs could be placed into administration by the end of August then I’d have to say it was very feasible. “What we need to do in the next week is to investigate what cuts we can make. “It won’t be the footballers who suffer as they have contracts. “Clubs are now on life support and every team needs that payment on August 6. “It’s as simple as that. Nobody wants to see teams going into administration and liquidation but the reality is that players have contracts. They need to be honoured and that brings its own problems.” All SPL clubs will gather at Hampden tomorrow morning for an AGM which hopes to bring some clarity to the crisis. But Gilmour is still baffled at why SFL outfits moved the goalposts for historic change in our game by reusing to allow Charles Green’s club into Division One. He said: “This is uncharted territory for the SPL, I honestly don’t know what’s being put on the table on Monday. “I don’t think many people know where they are with it. “The SFA thought they were delivering Rangers into Division One as I believed that was the agreed arrangement. We had the announcement that the SPL would change next season into a bigger league and there would be radical reform. “I was under the impression that was all part of the deal. I believed that was the right way forward for football. “We now know the majority of SFL clubs didn’t buy into it and I just hope they haven’t cut off their nose to spite their face. “They may well now have parked all of the commercial partners. “The advice we were given from the SFL was to allow them to deal with this. “Now we need to see on Monday morning just what is being said.” Gilmour will start implementing savage cost-cutting measures across the board at the Buddies but he is disgusted that innocent parties will be paying the price for crimes of others. He said: “Everyone will immediately stop signing players. “We have a board meeting arranged for Wednesday as there’s no point in having it before we hear what’s happening from Monday’s meeting. “If the commercial income figures are as bad a people are projecting them to be then we will clearly have to make some serious cuts. “It’s going to be the people who have played no part in this whatsoever and have done nothing wrong who are going to end up suffering. “That is going to be the same at every club. That’s the really horrific aspect of this situation. “Maybe some of the bigger clubs will have a benefactor who can write them a cheque for a million pounds to get them through this crisis. We don’t have that. “We will have to make as many cuts as we can. But we will also be looking at our income streams to see where else we can get money from.” SFL clubs voted overwhelmingly not to grant Green’s newco a place in the First Division. But Gilmour is struggling to get his head around the logic of a decision which may have been clouded by bitterness at having the Rangers problem dumped on them by the top-flight clubs. He said: “I fear some of the lower-league clubs have made a vote of revenge against the entire SPL. “Maybe there will be some people who woke up yesterday morning and said, ‘What have we done?’ “But I wasn’t at the meeting and I don’t know what went on. “The decision surprised me. If the SPL don’t have any money then the SFL clubs won’t get any cash through the settlement agreement. “The SFL receive £2m each year from the SPL so how is that meant to be paid if there isn’t any money? “I am concerned the SFL have cut off the financial tap from where the money flows. It’s true the SPL get the biggest share of the money but there is still £2m going down into the lower leagues. “If that is no longer there then what next for these clubs? “If football in Scotland becomes like the Welsh League then half of the people currently working in it won’t have a job.” St Mirren were one of 10 top-flight clubs who voted against letting the newco into the SPL but Gilmour insists they were left with no choice. He said: “We must not forget that Rangers had to be punished. Let’s not kid ourselves, that had to happen. “The way they ran their club before was unacceptable and if nothing else has been learned from this then we should certainly take that on board. “The problem now is that clubs which have been run well have now been affected through no fault of their own. They are also suffering.” Speculation is growing that an SPL 2 will be set up to find a solution to the crisis but Gilmour is adamant that must only be a last resort. He said: “Creating an SPL2 and having Rangers in that division isn’t one of my favoured options. I have been a supporter of SPL 2 but not just to accommodate one team. “As directors of football clubs we need to look at everything but I hope there are other options. The government needs to have a look at this. This is now a society issue and it’s time for government to take a close look and get involved. “I’m not saying our clubs haven’t been run properly but we have become too dependent on our commercial partners. It’s such a difficult time for Scottish football and we need to look at the best way forward to get through this.”
  9. Not forgetting his lunatic posts on twitter!
  10. What will be our squad for the coming season?,I wonder how much cash Ally will have for new signings?
  11. SKY and ESPN are set to negotiate a CHEAPER TV deal with the SPL after Rangers were plunged into the Third Division. The main sponsors will NOT pull out but will not be paying top dollar. A source said: â??They are not walking away but will not be paying massive sums without Old Firm matches. â??They want to work with Scottish football and make it work but it will be for much less.â? A ESPN spokesman said: â??We have held consistently that the SPL, SFA, SFL and their collective clubs make the decisions about Scottish football and we have looked to be supportive throughout the current difficult circumstances. â??We want to have a continued relationship with Scottish football and, naturally, that would need to make sense for Scottish football, for fans and for our business. â??We look forward to having fruitful discussions on that basis.â? SPL chief executive Neil Doncaster warned that sponsors had clauses in their contract which said they must have Rangers and Celtic in the league. Sky did not want to comment. Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...#ixzz20eBUw9SP
  12. Thank fuck you have only had Rose:smile:
  13. Tick tock tick tock...........................
  14. The BHEAST obsession with Rangers is very unhealthy, but amusing all the same
  15. PRESSURE is mounting on top Scottish football chief executives Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster as the gameâ??s governing bodies desperately try to get Rangers out of the Third Division. The top tier clubs meet tomorrow at Hampden for their annual general meeting and high on the agenda are ways of ensuring the Ibrox side donâ??t go to the bottom of the pile as panic spreads across the country over the financial implications of Fridayâ??s SFL vote. An SPL2 remains the favoured option although there has even been speculation that re-entry for Gers to the SPL could somehow be granted â?? although it has to be said neither looks feasible. Meanwhile, as civil war breaks out between the SFA and SPL and the SFL on the other side there have been calls for the two men at the heart of the matter to quit. It is understood there was a vote of no confidence in Regan that was proposed and seconded at Fridayâ??s SFL summit that saw Rangers dumped into the lowest league in the country. ì I feel there are positions that are untenable. Weâ??ve been rail-roaded and weâ??ve been threatened and everything about the whole exercise has been wrong î Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall This was tantamount to sticking two fingers up at the SFA and SPL who had campaigned for Charles Greenâ??s newco to go into the First Division. It was felt then, though, that it was not the right time to go forward with the motion. But the mood has hardened among SFL clubs over the weekend over feelings they have been victims of bullying and harassment. Regan and Doncaster remain deeply concerned about the future of the game while SPL clubs fear financial Armageddon with half-a-dozen of them teetering on the brink and certain to plunge into the abyss if television money is either withdrawn or slashed. However, SFL clubs are furious with the way the whole saga has been handled by the top brass and are demanding heads must roll Livingston chairman Gordon McDougall led the way as he insisted: â??I feel there are positions that are untenable. Weâ??ve been rail-roaded and weâ??ve been threatened and everything about the whole exercise has been wrong.â? Asked if he thought the SFL vote would be the end of this soap opera he said: â??No. But I donâ??t want to expand on that. â??But as far as we are concerned an SPL2 is dead in the water. As far as the powers-that-be are concerned...who knows? But the SPL model has failed. Itâ??s bust.â? Even the prospect of top clubs going to the wall failed to move McDougall as he added: â??I would feel sad and hope they would come through via a CVA or whatever but I wouldnâ??t feel responsible.â? Cowdenbeath secretary Alex Anderson added: â??We are totally disgusted at the way the whole situation has been handled by the SPL and SFA and their actions and the image that has been created could well endanger any future investment in the Scottish game. â??In view of the way Neil Doncaster and Stewart Regan have dealt with this situation they should now be considering their positions. â??We have been lied to and bullied and despite the overwhelming vote of SFL clubs that Rangers should re-start in Division Three we are still not clear what the final outcome will be.â? http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/332931/Chiefs-face-quit-calls
  16. Away ya drunken bum ye:drink::cheers:
  17. This guy is a nutter.......................but I love the way he keeps digging
  18. Ok mum:tongue: I should know better having been served a ban from our loving gersnet mods for coming on here pissed:D
  19. Gilmour gutted by Gers decision St Mirren chairman Stewart Gilmour has warned of "catastrophic" consequences for his club after Rangers were resigned to the Third Division. Gilmour has accused SFL clubs of doing severe damage to the Scottish game by rejecting plans to put the Ibrox club in the First Division. Gilmour, whose club were among 10 SPL clubs to reject Sevco Scotland's top-flight application, told the Paisley Daily Express: "This is horrific news for St Mirren Football Club. The consequences are terrible - catastrophic even." The potential impact of the decision will be discussed at the SPL's annual general meeting on Monday. "The St Mirren board will meet in the days after that SPL meeting and decide what is the best way forward but we are already looking at major redundancies," Gilmour said. Gilmour was impressed with a document given to SFL clubs which proposed a merger of the leagues and top-flight promotion play-offs if they accepted the Ibrox club in the second tier. "It set out changes to Scottish football that would bring in a fairer structure, fairer distribution system, fairer everything," the Saints chairman said. "Unfortunately, the people in the SFL have not bought into that. I just hope they realise the damage they have done to Scottish football. "Five clubs in the SPL could be in administration within weeks - and we will have to do everything we can to avoid being one of them." Some believe an SPL2 could be in the offing, although a breakaway would be very difficult to achieve given that 25 SFL clubs rejected the First Division plan. Gilmour said: "As for an SPL 2, I'm not sure that is any better than letting Rangers back into the top flight." http://www.teamtalk.com/rangers/7901757/Gilmour-gutted-by-Gers-decision
  20. Sorry Andy,my turn to say sorry,I thought you were being smart,I'm also a bit pissed so I thought you were being smart.
  21. Can I request that all this shit against the Rangers manager cease for now please,I really don't think this is the right time for it
  22. Andy,no need to be smart about it mate,I just feel so strongly about this pish
  23. True, however you can hardly expect him to stay when we have already lost so called Rangers men
  24. This is exactly why I said on another thread that it gets on my tits!, but was told sticks and stones...........................,NO!,we need to nip this in the bud now.
  25. Andy, what a strange thread!,first I must admit to not reading through the thread, however to even suggest stripping titles is somewhat ludicrous IMO,and dare I say rather mopish. This is why it upsets me when I keep hearing ' new Rangers ',make no mistake about this the next thing the BHEASTS will witch hunt is exactly what you are saying, our history is in tact.
