Care to expand?.

As you get with young players. He will improve the more he plays so for me he would start nearly every game, even when he is not playing too well he gives a natural balance to the team and an outlet with his pace.

The wee man is superb, his attitude and determination backed up by real quality,it's easy to see why the BHEASTS hate him,you could replace the word hate with FEAR!!!.

Meanwhile, Rangers last night pulled the plug on their bid to sign Argentine winger Matias Abelairas. Negotiations between the club and the player’s representatives broke down over money. Rangers made an offer to the former River Plate player, above, but there was a significant gap between that and what the player wanted. http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/272696/Rangers-boss-Ally-McCoist-wants-trophy

I see what you're saying mate and agree to an extent that we play too many long balls at times, however maybe it was just to put the pressure on the BHEASTS CBs',allowing Jelavic & Lafferty to ruffle them up a bit?. I'm like you though I'd rather see less long balls,in fact if there is one criticism at AM it is how so often he prefers to launch the ball up the pitch more than roll the ball or throw the ball out to a Rangers player

Police warn against Old Firm-related domestic violence
ian1964 replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
INCIDENTS of domestic abuse across the west of Scotland soared after the weekend’s Old Firm clash, with a hike to more than double the level of an average Sunday. Figures unveiled last night show that the number of domestic abuse incidents reported to Strathclyde Police was also a third higher than most Sundays when Rangers play Celtic. The disturbing spike comes despite warnings from the police and prosecutors on Saturday that domestic abuse would not be tolerated around Sunday’s Old Firm match. Officers also warned they would be knocking on the doors of some 400 known perpetrators of domestic abuse over the weekend to warn them against violence and pursue outstanding warrants for minor offences. Strathclyde Police yesterday said that despite repeated attempts to stamp out Old Firm domestic abuse, the fixture was still linked to worrying levels of violence. A police spokesman said: “This is not just a set of statistics about crime in the west of Scotland on an Old Firm weekend. Behind every one of the numbers is a victim, a family and a community blighted by the violence that, sadly, is still attaching itself to this fixture. “This was exactly why we called for the formation of the Joint Action Group back in March. It wasn’t because of the behaviour of the players on the pitch or the managers on the touchline. It was because we felt that something had to be done to tackle the unacceptable levels of violence that, unfortunately, we have seen again this weekend. “We will continue to work with our partners in Government and in football to find solutions that will make a difference.” According to the force, there were 142 reported incidents of spousal abuse on Sunday, compared to an average of 67. The figures are all the more alarming when compared with an Old Firm day average for domestic abuse reports, which is 107. The weekend’s reports indicate a rise of 112% when compared against the number of complaints received by police on an average Sunday over the past seven-and-a-half years. Scottish Women’s Aid said it was “dismayed” by the rise but added that it could be a result of more victims feeling able to report abuse to the police. A spokeswoman for the charity said: “We are supportive of the pro-active approach taken by Strathclyde Police and the procurator fiscal in dealing with domestic abuse. “We also hope that the extensive publicity generated in advance of the match instilled confidence in those experiencing domestic abuse to report this to the police.” Mhairi McGowan, from Assist Glasgow, the advocacy and support service for victims of domestic abuse, said: “For the first time in our seven-year history we have had to tell the courts that we have been unable, due to volume of people referred to us, to give them the information they need prior to court starting this afternoon. Never before has that been the case. “However, I also have to say that I am very pleased that so many people have come forward and reported domestic abuse incidents to the police, and that is a positive.” Despite the rise in domestic abuse cases, there was a notable dip in the number of serious assaults, with 18 recorded on Sunday against an average of eight. The average on an Old Firm Sunday is 23. The police spokesman added that it is unclear at this stage how many people were arrested as a result of the callouts. Twenty people were arrested at the game, either inside or around Ibrox stadium. Five of them were for alleged offences of a sectarian nature, while the others were for offences ranging from drunkenness to breach of the peace. A Crown Office spokesman added: “We would urge anyone suffering from domestic abuse to come forward and report it, and we can assure you that your case will be dealt with sensitively and according to the particular circumstances. “We would like to reassure the public that we take crimes of domestic abuse, whether it is physical or emotional, extremely seriously.” http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/warning-over-huge-rise-in-old-firm-domestic-abuse-1.1124718 -

I wasted my first 2 years at Ibrox, I had to make up for that
ian1964 posted a topic in Rangers Chat
WISER, fitter and stronger. It sounds like a Kris Commons-style statement to describe how Celtic compare with Rangers. Ask Kyle Lafferty how he feels as a Light Blues player now and those are precisely the words he'll pick. Lafferty has never felt more content with his football and personal life. His first-ever Old Firm goal in Sunday's showdown and the thought of becoming a dad in December have got the 24-year-old buzzing. Yet, with Lafferty brutal honesty is also never far away. The £3.25 million signing from Burnley has admitted his first two years at Ibrox were a WASTE. Never mind the two SPL titles and a Scottish Cup triumph he enjoyed in that time, all Lafferty thinks of are too many headlines for the wrong reasons, needless controversy, embarrassing immaturity. In between all of that there is no question were flashes of genuine ability and real potential. There were never enough of them to truly convince his critics, Rangers fans among them, that he was good enough to cut it at Ibrox. Not any more. Lafferty said: "I think I wasted the first two years of my Rangers career. "I was a joker and wasn't professional enough. I fully accept that but now I'm listening to people more. "The last six months I've wised up. I'm starting to do the right things both before and after training. "I listen to what the physio tells me, what the fitness coach says, what the manager wants from me. "I realise I'll be lucky to have 15 years as a player at a good level in football. "After yesterday somebody told me I've now scored 10 goals in 10 league games. "That says it all about just how well things are going for me on the park. I desperately want it to continue but I've still got a lot to learn. "For all my success I'm aware there are still fans out there who don't think I'm good enough to play for Rangers. "All I can do is keep scoring goals and prove them wrong. Hopefully, I will finally convince them. "I could have scored two or three more goals against Celtic but hopefully the fans could see that I gave everything I had for the cause at Ibrox. "I played a part in two of our goals as well as scoring one." Gers No2 Kenny McDowall rates as one of the biggest influences on Lafferty these days. The striker revealed: "Kenny challenged me before Sunday's game. "He wound me up about the fact I'd yet to score against Celtic. "He just said: 'Is there any chance of it finally happening'? Kenny made it clear that it was about time I changed that. "He has just been brilliant for me ever since I joined Rangers. He's such a big influence on me and that was all the more reason I was happy to respond to his challenge to me . "Kenny's always working to make me a better player but it's not just about his coaching, he's somebody I can also speak to about things." Lafferty, who is engaged to former Miss Scotland Nicola Mimnagh, dedicated his stike on Sunday to her. He added: "The strike against Celtic gave me a fantastic feeling. "That goal was for my girlfriend Nicola. I can't praise her enough for the support she gives me and for how happy she makes me feel. "She's expecting our first child around Christmas and we're both so excited. "On and off the pitch things couldn't be better right now. "I'm playing for Rangers and winning trophies and I'm scoring goals, while I've also got the girl of my dreams. "I'm working harder than I've ever done in my career. "I'm going to be a dad soon, so I've got to be focused on every aspect of my life. "People say that if you are happy at home then you are going to be productive at work. "I'd have to say that's definitely the case for me just now. "My family and Nic's have always been right behind me. "I've had a few difficult periods at Rangers, many of which I admit I have brought on myself. "I like to think I'm far more mature now â?? and more professional." Meanwhile, Lafferty also had praise for boss Ally McCoist for the half-time talk on Sunday which transformed Gers. Celtic went in 2-1 ahead, having overcome a Steven Naismith opener. There was no rage from McCoist, just some measured words. Lafferty added: "Ally didn't really say a lot but what he did say was spot on. "He said all the right things that made us go out and win the game. "He wasn't really angry but he made sure his points hit home to us. "I thought the way we played in the second half was simply outstanding." As I keep saying,we have to give Ally time to build a team, remember he was a top quality striker and so naturaly wants to see goals

The tougher it gets for them and the more pressure we can put on them you will see their players dropping like flies as they are bottling bastards which has been proved time and time again with the end result being a massive timplosion and another title in the bag for the best team in Scotland The BHEASTS last seven games: Played: 7 Won: 2 Drawn: 1 Lost: 4 Goals scored: 7 Goals conceded: 10
