  1. I disagree,I thought Naismith & Davis were poor first half, but they both were our best players second half,Lafferty was our best player throughout the whole game. All that aside it was a terrific result for us today, heaps the pressure on the BHEASTS and pulls back the goal difference. WE WILL WIN THE TITLE
  2. I must say Zappa,I like your style mate,well done:thup:
  3. Craig,Fatson is only correct in on one point,we should never have sold Miller, other than that he is talking a load of shite,Rangers FC will win the league
  4. Everybody knows the pie eating champion that is Hartson talks a load of crap: You're a disgrace Published: 07 Mar 2009 Add a comment (8) PEDRO MENDES isn't half the player Rangers fans think he is. Kyle Lafferty is way out of his depth. John Fleck is a child who could still be at school and can't be relied upon. Kenny Miller will NEVER score enough goals on a regular basis to win any team a championship title. Davie Weir getting a new 12 month contract after his 39th birthday in May will sicken the club's supporters. Barry Ferguson isn't yet close to being the dominating figure he used to be. Do I really need to go on? There you have the players Walter Smith is staking his reputation on to bring the SPL title to Ibrox. But as things stand the Rangers boss must look at that lot and know himself he has NO CHANCE of winning the league. Four-in-a-row is in the bag for Celtic. It's over now. Finished. Anyone who tries to tell me differently either needs to sit down with a stiff drink - or watch a re-run of the Old Firm sides in action on Wednesday night. At Kilmarnock you had one group of players going all out, busting a gut to get another crucial three points on the board. In Glasgow there was another team showing no fight, no resilience and no desire to pip their greatest rivals to the post. For me that performance and result at Ibrox was a shocking disgrace which only goes to show how big a problem Smith has. The Rangers players are letting themselves, their club and their manager down. Do they actually want a league winner's medal, or what? On the evidence of their display against Caley Thistle I really don't think they do. Winning titles takes bottle, but where was that when push came to shove on Wednesday? Rangers were diabolical for the two years before Smith took charge again. They came close to European glory last season and deserve all the credit going for that. But their shambolic end to the league campaign was papered over because of the hectic run of games in the final few weeks. They were given a convenient excuse. What will these guys be saying this May when they watch Celtic clinch the title - again? When are they going to stand up and be counted? I really would love to know because this can't be allowed to go on much longer. Some might choose to point the finger of blame at the manager as he's the man who brought many of these players to the club in the first place. But for me that's way too simple. It's not Walter Smith who is stepping on to the pitch week in week out. There is only so much he can say or do. Lafferty for one has been given an opportunity he says is a lifelong dream. Really? You wouldn't have thought that with the way the boy has been playing. Surely he must realise his chance of making it with Rangers is now on the verge of passing him by. If he continues the way he's going he's going to be back at somewhere like Burnley before he knows it. Lafferty must run faster, jump higher, score more. He's the prime example of everything that's wrong in that dressing room. Lafferty thinks he's achieved something by signing for Rangers when the truth of the matter is he's done nothing. He's nowhere near good enough for the club if you ask me, but when I see him play it's as though he thinks he's got something special in his locker. Mendes isn't much better. I've heard people rave about him this season and clearly he's got ability there and can see a pass. But seeing it and making it are two totally different things. More than that I just don't see any biting aggression there from a player supposed to be competing in central midfield for a massive club. You could say the same about Ferguson these days as he's not dominating games like he used to, but for me he's been dragged down to the level of those around him. You can't tell me he doesn't want to stop Celtic winning the league. I meet diehard Rangers fans in the street and they tell me they're sick to death with what's being served up. The only reason they go along to see the games is because it's in their blood. It's like everything they don't have at Ibrox they see in spades across the city. Celtic were awesome against Kilmarnock with everyone pulling their weight. Scott Brown was outstanding, snarling his way through the game. Scott McDonald's two goals were tremendous with his determination shining through all night. Then there was Aiden McGeady picking the ball up on the halfway line, facing his man and running at him with pace. Who at Rangers can do that? Kirk Broadfoot virtually gets a nosebleed whenever he steps out of his own half. No, the league is done and dusted. Celtic allowed a seven point lead to slip once and must have been kicking themselves. But they have been allowed to get off the hook and I don't see them wasting their advantage a second time. Rangers simply can't be that lucky. I can just imagine what it was like in the away dressing room at Rugby Park after the game on Wednesday night. You'd have had a group of players laughing their heads off. Celtic won the league there two years ago - it will have felt like they did again. P.S. Gordon Strachan is still despised by a large section of Celtic supporters. They don't know they're born. If four-in-a-row is delivered each and every one of them should sit down with a pen and paper and write him a personal note of thanks. It's the very least he'd deserve.
  5. THEY say the SPL title is priceless - but it's not. Rangers sold it for £400,000. A measly amount of money and God knows why they thought it was worth it. But the second they accepted the cash for Kenny Miller their championship chances went spinning down the stank. When Celtic lift the trophy, and they WILL, the grasping money-men at Ibrox will only have themselves to blame. Manager Walter Smith - a picture of frustration so often in his farewell season - will have had his hands tied on that deal, I'm pretty sure. If it had been down to him he'd have kept the on-form striker. Kenny boarded that flight to Turkey three months ago and is STILL the SPL's top scorer! Yet Miller was allowed to go - and when he flew out for Bursaspor on that cold January morning Rangers' league chances went with him. I tipped Smith's side at the start of the season. But not any more. There's now nothing to stop my wee pal Neil Lennon winning his first title. Sure, it'll be a close run-in. But it's in my old club's hands now and I firmly believe they will NOT let it slip away. This week I've had a studied look at the games ahead for both sides and I do expect a few nervy ones between now and Sunday, May 15. But Celtic have more than enough in the tank to get them across the finishing line. Dundee United at home this weekend won't be a problem in my eyes. Peter Houston has a decent side there but nothing to worry anyone at Parkhead. No, for me Inverness Caley Thistle away is the tricky one. That's a tough place to go at the best of times. At this stage in the season, on a midweek when you really need to win, it's hellish. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Terry Butcher puts out a side good enough to get something. He'll love that too. That's why I fancy a 1-1 draw. Then it's away games against Kilmarnock and Hearts. From what I saw the last time at Rugby Park, Celtic have absolutely nothing to worry about. There's no way on God's earth Killie will take anything. Hearts at Tynecastle will require a lot more graft because their fans will be desperate to put a spanner in the works. They'd see that as a major achievement but for me that's when one of Celtic's big hitters will stand up and be counted. I expect someone like Gary Hooper or Kris Commons to nick a goal with a moment of magic. I say 1-0 Celtic. Pivotal. The final game is Motherwell at home and a chance to exorcise some of the ghosts that have haunted me since 2005. I played the day Scott McDonald scored twice to hand the title to Rangers and it was my worst day in football. It won't happen again. So Celtic will end up with 93 points by my calculations. Rangers will beat Well at Fir Park today - Stuart McCall's side will now have one eye on the Scottish Cup Final against the Hoops on May 21. This time 2-1 Rangers is my prediction. Hearts at home is where Smith's side will fall down. I can see Jim Jefferies' Jambos leaving with a point at least - Rangers' title chances GONE with two games to go. I don't think there's anything stopping them from beating Dundee United and Kilmarnock. But 91 points is the best they can hope for. And you know what? No one at Rangers could argue. Celtic, for me, have been the best side in the country for most of the season and deserve to be crowned champs. I think they realised they were better than Rangers when they played them at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup. They went down to ten men but still dominated the second half in the 2-2 draw. Celtic must have come away thinking: 'We have nothing to fear with this lot. They're not the force we thought they were'. And the truth is that's the way it's turned out. Rangers had their chances and they've been unlucky for a lot of the season. Losing Lee McCulloch through injury was a massive blow because he held them together in the middle. Selling Miller? MADNESS. Look, truly big clubs don't sell their big players when they're battling for silverware and I said at the time the decision staggered me. It's not like they raked in a fortune. They got less than half a million for a player who was virtually priceless. Now they will pay the biggest toll of all for their folly. 7. That's a pity mate,it looks like I'll be heading to sunny Kazakhstan at the end of May,otherwise we could have met up for a beer or ten:drink: I wouldn't mind being a pound behind you:p
  8. Aye,no problem Craig, the only problem is I'll need to check my bank account and see what is left after ploughing in all my money to the CW take over:tongue:
  9. To be succsessful you need to be able to defend, let's not forget that fact.
  10. Is anybody from gersnet attending this?,I did ask Frankie but I can't remember. It would be great if we could get a good report for gersnet of the events and what was being discussed. FWIW i think this is a great idea and one I would hope will be the start of some sort of regular meetings
  11. Cracking post,IMO. Borrowed from another forum. Firstly, let me state that I think the latest UEFA ruling on our club has been an absolute stitch-up, an absolutely scandalous farce of a decision. FAREââ?¬â?¢s involvement in the whole process has been nothing short of a joke. Let us face it, we are hardly going to get favourable treatment from an unaccountable organisation whose head is married to a staunch Celtic supporter who hates Rangers! We simply have to appeal the decision, or run the risk of facing guaranteed greater penalties in the future. There is also the fact that far worse behaviour goes unpunished throughout Europe on a regular basis. The problem of racist chanting in countries like Spain and Russia is much worse than anything I have ever heard come out of Ibrox. However, we cannot defend our own behaviour by simply pointing to the fact that others teamsââ?¬â?¢ fans are worse. Yes, the fact our club has again been singled out is not fair, and we have clearly been stitched up by enemies of our club ââ?¬â? but if we are clever about this, we can turn recent events into a victory. I would ask this question: do our enemies ââ?¬â? mainly Celtic fans who are motivated and prepared to put the effort into hurting us, Tims with typewriters in the press and ââ?¬Ë?Celtic-mindedââ?¬â?¢ politicians ââ?¬â? really care about what songs our fans sing? Do they really want us to become, for want of a better phrase, a ââ?¬Ë?family friendlyââ?¬â?¢ club? Of course they do not! No, all they want to see is for us to suffer, to continue to be punished by UEFA ââ?¬â? and eventually face being banned from Europe. If we manage to turn this all around and become the type of club they claim they want us to be, they would actually hate it. They will have nothing to complain about and will have left themselves open to be targeted for their own behaviour. I truly believe that this latest turn of events could be the making of our support and club ââ?¬â? our enemies have tried to strike us down, without realising that, if they do so, we will only become stronger. We have a long road ahead of us but it has to start somewhere ââ?¬â? and here is how I would go about restoring our reputation and making us a club to be proud of. The first thing we have to do is accept the unfairness of the situation which surrounds Rangers. Yes, the club absolutely must fight the latest UEFA charges as far as they can, to not do so would have catastrophic future consequences. However, we, the support, have to do our bit to make sure we are never put in such a position again. But how do we do this? The only option is for the club to work together with the fans, particularly people like RSC representatives, the Rangers Supporters Trust and The Blue Order. For too long, the club has failed to seek the opinions of the support ââ?¬â? indeed, I would suggest they have been openly hostile to groups like the RST ââ?¬â? and look at the mess we are now in. Together we have to come up with a proper plan to ensure we celebrate our unique position of being proud to be Scottish and British, our quintessential Britishness, if you like. Under normal circumstances, you would think that the Scottish club who pretend to be Irish and, in doing so, hate their own country would be seen as the one in need of having their behaviour and attitudes called into question. It certainly is a strange and bitter little country we live in. But back to the main point of this post, what can we do to put our own house in order?ââ?¬Â¦ We have to realise that the best way to celebrate traditions that we are proud of is not to denigrate that which we are not. I am not a religious man myself but it is clearly obvious to me that the best way to celebrate our Protestant culture is surely not to criticise other religions, particularly Catholicism. As far as religions go, Catholicism is the one I dislike the most ââ?¬â? but I do not think a football match is the best place to get involved in a theological debate. I do not think for a minute that even the most staunch of our Protestant supporters would go to the cinema and sing songs about religion, so why do we have to do this at a football match? Likewise, I despise a murderous terrorist organisation like the IRA but, again, do we really need to sing about them at the football? Most decent people surely hate the IRA but they do not feel the need to publicly sing about them, so why do we? Let the Celtic fans embarrass themselves by glorifying the murderers. Let us get our own house in order and show them up for the anti-Scottish and anti-British racist bigots that they are. It is time to celebrate our own culture and everything that makes us great ââ?¬â? it is time to celebrate what we are, not what we are based on what we are not. Now on to the bit which will probably be the most contentious issue in this post: what should we sing and what should we consign to the history books? In case anyone levels any ââ?¬Ë?handwringerââ?¬â?¢ accusations at me, let me state that this could not be further than the truth. I have sung every single song which has got us in trouble in the pastââ?¬Â¦ I still have them on my iPodââ?¬Â¦ I still sing them in my own homeââ?¬Â¦ my favourite Rangers pub was The Clachanââ?¬Â¦ part of me still thinks all fans should be allowed to sing what they want at the football ââ?¬â? yet I will no longer sing anything home or away which will put the club I love in jeopardy. And nor should any other Rangers fan who professes to love Rangers more than the songs they want to sing. With that in mind, I would put our songsheet into three categories: those which we should celebrate and sing with pride, those which should immediately be binned and, perhaps more controversially, those which are not in my opinion sectarian but still should be dropped. So, here goes (and I know this is purely subjective, that many are not and have never been sung at Ibrox, and that the list is not exhaustive ââ?¬â? this is top of the head stuff): Loud And Proud Penny Arcade, Derryââ?¬â?¢s Walls, Paisley Road West, Rule Britannia, Follow Follow (original lyrics), Wolverhampton Town, God Save The Queen, Every Other Saturday, The Sash, The Best, The Blue Sea Of Ibrox. Lose For Good The Billy Boys, The [so-called] Famine Song, Super Rangers, No Pope Of Rome, Here Lies A Soldier, No 1 Platoon, Men Behind The Wire, Weââ?¬â?¢re Coming, Will You Stand, Daddyââ?¬â?¢s Uniform. Non-sectarian But Do They Have A Place At A Football Match? Build My Gallows, UDR4, A Fatherââ?¬â?¢s Advice, King Billyââ?¬â?¢s On The Wall, Fields Of Ulster, I Was Born Under A Union Jack, Gibraltar, Englishmanââ?¬â?¢s Betrayal, Wee Spot In Europe. Again, let me state that I am not claiming to be an authority on the above ââ?¬â? I am merely just wanting to start the debate somewhere. An agreed list, like the above, should be finalised between the club and the support and then printed in the media and distributed on seats etc. I think the majority of our fans are Scottish, yet a lot of the songs we sing about, particularly the ones which land us in trouble, are related to the troubles in Northern Ireland. Now in no way am I knocking our Northern Irish brothers and sisters ââ?¬â? I am very fond of that particular part of the world and I appreciate the huge lengths so many of them go to in order to support Rangers ââ?¬â? but should they not be coming across the water to celebrate how magnificent Rangers are, rather than most of our support singing about the issues they have left behind in Ulster? If this is offensive, I apologise, I do not mean to cause offence on such an emotive subject ââ?¬â? all I am trying to say it should all be about The Rangers! Another thing I would like the club to look at would be creating an ââ?¬Ë?eliteââ?¬â?¢ songwriting team in conjunction with our fansââ?¬â?¢ groups ââ?¬â? and fully supporting, perhaps even financially, them. I would charge this new group of talented and creative individuals to come up with acceptable new songs which celebrate our club. We should have far more songs about Rangers and our magnificent history, songs about our current players and songs which celebrate our legends. I will end, at last many of you may say, by repeating the title of this post: ââ?¬Å?No-one likes us, we [should] care.
  12. QPR are set to be stripped of automatic promotion to the Premier League, according to a backpage report. The Sun claims that the 'the runaway Championship leaders are likely to face a big points deduction - possibly up to 15 - if they are found guilty of breaking strict third-party ownership rules over the signing of Alejandro Faurlin. 'The evidence against the West London club is said to be damning and they could now end up in the play-offs.' If Rangers are found guilty, Norwich and Cardiff would almost certainly be promoted automatically to the top-flight. Nonetheless, it appears as if the Championship season is set to end in messy if not chaotic fashion. The hearing will only commence next Tuesday with a verdict expected to be delivered three days later. 'If Neil Warnock's side are found guilty they will have seven days to appeal,' continues The Sun. 'However, if QPR take legal action or other clubs decide to seek legal avenues because of points they lost when Faurlin played against them, the whole issue could drag on throughout the summer. 'The nightmare scenario could even be that the Championship promotion play-offs do not take place at all until the issue is resolved.' http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6903206,00.html
  13. Ok,I never got to see or hear the game,I'm only going on what I am reading from a lot of fans that were there, and they are saying the add ons were ''cheating bastards '' as opposed to the other add ons. If these add ons were used then I'm sure they have evidence.
  14. This is my point BD,as far as what I have read from a lot of Rangers fans who were at the PSV game these words were never sung, the song '' we are Rangers, super Rangers '', was apparently sung but without the add ons!!. My point is do FARE and UEFA have phyisical evidence,ie recordings, of these words being used. I'm not trying to be awkward,I'm just trying to understand the actual reasons for the fines from UEFA. I assume this will be in the written statement from UEFA?.
  15. Does anyone know if FARE have replied to the RST letters of complaints regarding the racial abuse given out to Diouf by the BHEASTS?. Also does FARE only cover European games,or do they/can they cover any game in any league?.
  16. Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has again expressed concerns about the Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) organisation, accusing the group of being influenced by those intent on damaging the club. Bain spoke out after the Scottish champions were fined a total of 80,000 euros (£71,200) and their fans were banned from the club's next away match in Europe. The UEFA charges related to discriminatory behaviour by Rangers supporters during both legs of the Europa League tie against PSV Eindhoven last month. Rangers were fined an equal amount for both offences and handed a suspended ban on fans attending a second away game, plus the knowledge they will play a home match behind closed doors if fans repeat the offence within three years. Bain said in a statement: "In terms of the UEFA case brought against us, we have had serious concerns about the integrity of the evidence compiled by the FARE organisation and that remains the case. "We are also of the opinion that FARE has been influenced by people who make it their business to damage our club in any way they can. "We are committed to the eradication of sectarianism and believe it would have been more constructive for FARE to work with our club rather than against it. "Instead, they submitted evidence to UEFA with a clear objective in mind and have shown a complete lack of transparency or accountability when asked for clarification on various aspects of that evidence." However, FARE denied any bias against Rangers and accused Bain of stoking a feeling of victimisation among the club's supporters. In a statement released to Press Association Sport, Howard Holmes, chair of the FARE board, said: "We note the comments made by Martin Bain, Rangers CEO, after the hearing in Nyon today. "It is disappointing to see a major European club continue to question the motivation of a body such as FARE in submitting legitimate observer reports at two European games. "The FARE network has a long track record in the area of tackling discrimination and developing initiatives to encourage social inclusion. "Our expertise is widely acknowledged by European institutions in the football, governmental and social sectors. We are proud to have been a social responsibility partner of UEFA since August 2001. "We once again categorically refute any suggestion of bias against, or hidden agenda to damage, Rangers FC. "Mr Bain's comments will inevitably continue to feed a sense of a miscarriage of justice and external blame amongst Rangers fans, rather than accepting the extent and nature of the problem that exists. "Sectarianism is a very serious issue that has tarnished the name of Scottish football. "We look forward to renewed and serious action to tackle the problem across the game in the coming seasons." Bain also reiterated Rangers' commitment to tackling the problem of sectarianism among the club`s support. He added: "To be clear, we condemn sectarianism and there is no doubt the mindless behaviour of an element of our support has exposed the club to a very serious situation. "The people who engage in this type of behaviour are damaging the club they claim to support. "It is abundantly clear from this decision that if there is any sectarian singing at future matches the suspended bans will take effect. Those fans who engage in such activity need to take that message on board. "The majority of our fans understand the situation and would much rather focus on football. They show that clearly at Ibrox and the tremendous atmosphere they created at last weekend's Old Firm match was a case in point." http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/202747,rangers-we-have-serious-concerns-about-organisation.aspx
  17. Aye,I know these in particular are obvious. Is that the end of the offended as long as these two words are never sung??

  19. HE'S looked at the figures and done all the sums. Ally McCoist doesn't think Rangers will be in trouble if the Craig Whyte takeover falls through. He KNOWS it. The Ibrox boss-in-waiting has had a long hard look at the club's financial mess. And he's had to draft up TWO lists of potential signing targets. One has star quality players he would love to sign if a new owner takes charge. The other is bargain basement Bosmans other big clubs have tossed aside. It's a scary situation facing a rookie boss - but McCoist insists it's the reality that can't be ignored. He said: "It's correct to say it's difficult. I have one list here on my left and another on my right - and one is cheaper than the other. "I can't move on either list right now and might miss out on players on both lists. "That's the way it is - it's not an ideal situation but we know that and have to deal with it. "If the wage bill has to get cut again I have another list. "If things stay the same I will have to cut quite severely and that's horrendous. "I'm attempting to say to the fans 'We're in trouble, BIG trouble'. "If these cuts have to be made then you just have to look at the squad we'll be left with and work out how difficult it will be. "We will always, always, always strive to be competitive - that's just the nature of our club. "But it will be very difficult. "I hate to say that because it might sound as if I'm making excuses before I'm in the job." McCoist can only hope that the loyal Rangers fans who buy season tickets every year don't opt to keep their money in their pockets - or the situation might get even worse. But he can understand if they are reluctant to part with their hard-earned cash. McCoist added: "The fans want to know the product first. "It's like buying tickets for a concert without knowing who you're going to watch - you just wouldn't do that, would you? "I'm totally with the fans on where they are coming from on this. I've no doubt they will come out again, but I understand completely why they would like to know the manager's plans and where the club is going first. "Of course I'd always encourage Rangers fans to support the club and season ticket holders are so important to us it's unbelievable. "But I would urge them to stay with us. "I don't think they do realise the extent of things. "I don't want to sit here and scare them with this and that going to happen, I just want their continued support." McCoist still hopes Whyte's long-running takeover will be completed by next week - by which time he'll be able to look at Plan A. That includes new contract offers to Steven Davis, Madjid Bougherra and Allan McGregor. Ibrox No 1 McGregor in particular has been outstanding with Gers offering him a SIX-YEAR extension to his current deal. And McCoist is desperate for him to stay, adding: "Allan can be anything he wants to be. It is entirely up to him. "He can achieve all his footballing dreams here because there is no better place to be successful. "There might be one or two bigger places, if you are talking Manchester United or clubs like that, but in terms of a place to be when things are going well, there is no better club in the world than here. "What I am saying is 'Stay here and enjoy your football'. "We've had top goalies like Chris Woods and Andy Goram. Those two boys were fantastic goalkeepers, but Allan is a fantastic goalkeeper as well, no doubt about it. "That's the one thing I'd have to say, Rangers have been pretty lucky in the past 20-30 years with some really, really top goalkeepers. It's arguably one of the most important positions in the team. We have been lucky and certainly in my opinion Allan is up there with any we have had. "He has great focus which is important for any goalkeeper, but especially at a top club. "I think the one thing about Allan is that he is fantastically dedicated to his job when he goes out on that park and when he trains. "He is a beast when it comes to training. "He is one of these boys, a wee bit like Gascoigne, who I think is at home on the training ground and the football park." As SunSport also revealed this week Vladimir Weiss is desperate to sign a new loan deal from Manchester City. And McCoist admits: "Vlad is an obvious one because he enjoyed his time here. "He did well, probably could have played a bit more. "We are not in a position to spend money but we are in a position where if you have an advantage of having someone who has been here before, you know them and they know you, it would certainly be a plus." Whatever happens off the park, McCoist plans to hold talks with skipper Davie Weir. He added: "I haven't spoken to Davie yet but we'll definitely sit down and have a chat. "I don't know what he'll do, but the most important person in all of this is Davie himself. "He has to decide what he wants to do. "The one thing is that Davie has earned his stripes and deserves a couple of weeks away to think about it. "He might want to stay on, he might want to do coaching after sitting his UEFA badges. No one can grudge him his choice." Read more: http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3554139/Gers-fans-just-dont-know-how-big-a-mess-we-are-in.html#ixzz1KtkeTqNR

  21. I agree with Zappa,I think the club have an opportunity to get UEFA to inform us what is acceptable and what is not, they need to push for this because the BHEASTS won't stop, they will simply move on to another song to be offended by.
  22. Now that I would like to see!!!
