  1. Celtic legend Jim Craig reveals he was surprised to see ‘the poor state’ of Rangers’ Ibrox stadium during recent Old Firm derby. European Cup winning legend Craig wasn't impressed with the nick of the iconic stadium during a recent trip. By Robert Collins LISBON LION Jim Craig admits he was shocked to discover the ‘poor state of Ibrox’ during an Old Firm clash last season. The Celtic legend still follows the Hoops and is regularly spotted in the stands at Parkhead along with fellow 1967 European Cup hero Bertie Auld. But after taking in a game against Rangers in Govan last term, the 74-year-old said he was surprised at the stadium’s poor condition as he bemoaned the lack of competition in Scotland. He told CeltsAreHere: “Brendan Rodgers has done a great job since he came in and I would not be at all surprised if we picked up another Treble at the end of the season.“However it would also be fair to say to say that the quality of the opposition in Scotland is not all it might be.“Quite a number of clubs are in financial trouble and do not have the cash to bring in players of a better standard than the ones already in the club. “Even our traditional rivals from across the city are not in the best of financial health and I was really surprised at the poor state inside of Ibrox when I attended one of the derbies last season. “If we don’t get the competition we need from teams in Scotland, then it means that when we hit the European scene, we have to raise out game quite considerably when we come up against some of the Continent’s best teams.“This is difficult to achieve and it is no surprise that we can struggle at that level.” We previously told how cheeky Celtic fans had planned to wear hard hats to Ibrox last season in a pop over the stadium’s roofing. The idea came after hundreds of Rangers supporters were forced to move seats during a Championship clash against Dumbarton in 2015 due to ‘fabric’ issues. But the wind-up was blocked by Police Scotland as the Hoops edged out 2-1 winners on the day. However, Rangers supporters got one back on their rivals weeks later after pictures emerged online of a giant hole in the Celtic Park facade. The Glasgow giants are due to meet again at Parkhead on December 30. Meanwhile Craig believes Celtic wonderkid Kieran Tierney has the world at his feet – but might be tempted to leave for the Premier League one day. Tierney – who recently captained Scotland against Holland – signed a mammoth six-year deal with the Scottish champions last month. That has led to suggestions that the Hoops-mad defender could become a one-club man and see out the rest of his career at Parkhead. But Craig believes the wages on offer in England could eventually prove too much to turn down. He said: “Kieran Tierney is a special player, with everything that a top defender needs.“He has pace, strength and tackles well; he also loves to come forward to help out the forwards. “And, even better, he has always been a Celtic fan. I hope he will be at Celtic Park for a long time.“However there is a serious financial gulf between what a player can earn in Scotland and what he could pick up in England. “Right now, Kieran seems very happy with his lot at Celtic Park.“Suppose, though, that he was being advised by a financial advisor that knows the British scene; what advice would he be giving our young star?” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/spo...rangers-ibrox/ Just adding this one to the list. The obvious point in this one is the buttering up of the idea that Celtic Park is the only option for the new National Stadium. When this happens we can refer back here!
  2. That guy was one of the most obvious s*it stirrers I’ve seen on here.
  3. If that is what they do then it is truly pathetic!
  4. Unfortunately reading that, I am seeing a “not fit to stand trial” coming up. It would be interesting to find out where he committed th aw offences as that detail is strangely never mentioned. I can honestly see a massive ‘sweep, sweep’ coming here.
  5. Jeezo, that’s horrendous. I see Celtic’s statement, as always, says “it wusnae our fault”.
  6. Well done, about time. I’d raised concerns about that poster before.
  7. Couldn’t have put it better myself.
  8. Is speaking out against dodgy refereeing a requisite?
  9. Is it just a Scotland thing or are there other countries where players of a certain club are vilified when playing for the national team?
  10. Solid performance. Eased up after the third and should have had more. Anyone know what happened in the Thistle end? Were they all fighting amongst themselves?
  11. And this is someone who has an official role relating to Celtic. Rancid club.
  12. That is true. He is pretty much the only one that I don’t mind at all.
  13. What is it with ex-players that just simply won’t defend anything to do with our club? I’ve had the misfortune of listening to Clyde 1 and they are all getting stuck into Jack and saying the red should have stood (including Johnstone). You would never get that with an ex-Sellick player. So what is it about our ex-players that they just tow the party line that all things Rangers are bad? Is it because they feel like they’ll lose their job if they don’t?
  14. Not directly but it had a huge impact.
  15. At least a VR would make it harder for them to lie about why they cheat us. For now it is easy to say that it was hard for the red to see. If there was a VR then it’s harder to justify the fact that someone watched the event again and still fabricated decisions against us.
  16. Yet when Rangers drew against Barca it was a “crime against football”.
  17. All this talk of building a new stadium outside of Glasgow is nonsense. It makes perfect sense to build the stadium within what is Scotland’s biggest city by a long shot.
  18. I’m pretty sure he will face a massive reduction in the levels of provocation at International level.
  19. It is just quite a coincidence with all the stuff going on over there. Maybe as you are living in Spain you don’t understand the current climate in Scotland.
  20. Out of interest, are you actually located in Catalunya?
  21. I would think that as we are discussing what Rangers fans are called by a certain part of society due to perceived religion then it deserves its place in Rangers Chat.
  22. Exactly. The highly ironic thing is that somehow Fenian has been widely (forceably?) defines as a religious slur. It doesn’t take much investigation at all to see that the word is seeped in Irish Republicanism, and in fact it was used as a badge of honour. It has nothing to do with religion but politics. But it is used as a stick to beat Rangers fans with. Whilst Hun is widely associated with derogatory description of Protestants in Ireland (where Celtic fans import a lot of their hatred). It is actually the more religiously loaded slur. But obviously this is a hidden fact in Scotland.
  23. Good win. Hopefully Pedro’s refereeing dossier is being continued though as this one is one that is free from the (unfair) cries of sour grapes.
  24. Please God; no.
  25. Of course he didn’t. But he didn’t help due to the farcical display. Can we not highlight the chronic refereeing against us? Yes, we have other problems but It doesn’t mean we should all lie down and accept what is happening with us and referees this season.
