  1. Didn't wind the mhankies up as much as the Prestige and World Standing article. Next one best not mention them or i'll end looking as bitter as they do!
  2. Doesn't get many goals, but got the one that kept Falkirk up. Don't expect him to improve them much. The wee teams need goalscorers.
  3. Well the changes he made worked just a bit eh? Barely seemed to drop points. Will be very interesting to see what tactics he adopts this year and how effective he is. We could get them in the CL could we not?
  4. Ah well, something good to remember them by.
  5. Not sure if this should be here but kind of involves us. Noticed today Setanta's channels are off air now (well at least on Virgin). Did that only happen today? Is that Setanta officially gone then?
  6. That's horrific. Even the mhankies would be disgusted by that.
  7. Signs one year extention according to sky sports.
  8. Co-efficient points from 2007/8 (Manchester) = 22.05 08/09 (Kaunas ) = 0.375 09/10 = 4.1332 Kaunas is by far and away our worst year (obviously) currently counting to our overall co-efficient and hence ranking for Euro competition. We've not even played in Europe this season and earned more points from automatic CL group entry. Need to have a reasonable run this year to try and offset Kaunas. This page shows the rankings for 2010, though subject to change dependant on results in this years competitions.
  9. Does this really mean anything? Just a number? Or are Celtic not significantly better off than us? Interesting that some of the wee clubs have the better scores.
  10. Sounds like 95% of the Scottish media!
  11. Frankie. I did wonder what happened to AZ falling off so badly. Assumed it was bigger team poaching their players or their luck running out. Something like that. Had no idea it was to do with the football employed by Van Gaal (no doubt just one of the causes). We don't really get much coverage of Dutch football and tbh I was lazy and made assumptions. If this most recent and more succesful season can, in part, be put down to a change of tactics from the manager it does indeed add weight to the arguement. Of course, fans are right when they say we should be able to win and play better football. However, it isn't always so easy unless you have the best players in Europe like at Barca. They don't usually put much stock in winning the Cup on the continent so I didn't think it was worth mentioning. Na, forgot they also won the Copa Del Rey tbh.
  12. Might make myself one of these and send it off to a few clubs.
  13. As I say, just a rumour. No idea about the credibility of that site either.
  14. I take it the rest of you would rather read what we got in the press about Scottish football; comments on fan behaviour, what pattern the grass is cut or the colour of the packets the snacks come in? Rather than attempt at an educated appraisal of the complexities of the game?
  15. Are ESPN and Sky not rumoured to have put in bids that aren't a million miles away from the Setanta deal? Approx 90% and 60-70% of that deal respectively. Can't see any of the "council telly" channels being able to afford it.
  16. @ Scott Booth.
  17. Phil Vickery's column from the BBC. Makes a change to read an opinion from a sports writer who actually seems to know something about the game and can discuss the tactics and pattern of games rather than innuendo, comments about what the fans are singing and other such tedious nonsense. How come more supposed football experts in the press can not do this and merely rehash what happened and when or discuss anything but what actually happened on the field?
  18. Hope to christ your right as the quotes from Dailly certainly suggest he thinks it might be a goer.
  19. USA throught to play Spain. Might have been better going out! Did Beasley play tonight?
  20. Seen your picture in the papers!
  21. No thanks. The initial 6 months was a shrewd stop gap signing. Last season was a season too many though. If we're looking to reduce the wage bill there is no way we can justify retaining his services and he will only continue to reduce the opportunities for youth players to get experience. Thank you and good bye.
  22. Send the wee tramp to Greece. Or keep him at Celtic, he is pish.
  23. Buggers always give us a hard game, plus we seem to get midweek or xmas trips up there (not that i've travelled ) so hope they don't. Do seem a well run club though.
  24. I think Sanchez would be a good manager. Not so much Staunton. BTW Sanches looks like a kiddie-fiddler in the pic on the link.
  25. The England shirt is the most horrendous steaming pile of shite ever in the history of football shirts, only surpassed by the mhankies of course. Awesome avatar btw Modman. Is that made from the Dutch badge?
