Rangers FC Agree to 'Setting the Standard' Debate
Super_Ally replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
I think whilst some members have congratulated the contributors for writing, collating and delivering the report (and for that they should be commended as you have yourself alluded to) there has not been congratulations yet of any achievements or goals being met. There is also a healthy dose of cynicism of the boards reaction to this, borne out of previous experience of the boards actions. I think you're perhaps misreading people who have congratulated the contributors for their work (mostly directed at Frankie as the project leader). I believe everyone is aware that nothing has yet been achieved, nor may it be and that the hard work is still to come. I am sure you are aware that the vast majority of Rangers fans are not dedicated users of message boards. If we are ever to have any impact upon the running of the club we need to try and mobilise the "ignorant" (sic) masses. Projects like STS can help achieve that and as Cal points out, even if all this does is help to raise awareness amongst the support and perhaps even increase unity then it has been a worthwhile venture.- 61 replies

Hadn't really thought about it in that context until I'd seen it written down by Frankie (and you can't really argue with the point he makes). Quite sad when you look at it that way.- 61 replies

I don't think anyone has suggested that it is not a distinct possibility that the club may/will not act on the points raised in the report. As you say that is no reason to dismiss the report, and the effort of those who contributed to it, out of hand completely. Perfectly reasonable to be sceptical, but all the better if you can look at the bigger picture at the same time.- 61 replies

Moving under freedom of contract is he not (though we may get compensation due to his age). So not sure we have any right to be inserting any clauses. Not something i've come across before though, so accept I may be wrong.

Surely not? He'll be off to Parkhead with that Swedish centre back we couldn't compete with them for.

A very important point that should not be overlooked should the STS report manage to effect even just one change. Don't hold your breath. I know of some others who should be taking that line. It's about improving Rangers, and not taking the hump because it is not your idea specifically that is taken forward to change the club. As you say, if the club do go ahead and make changes, whether or not it is under the guise of the STS report it would be fair to suggest the report has been an instigating factor. Perhaps that will serves as an eye opener to the club that whilst many of the fans are not captains of industry we still have a wealth of talent and skills within the support.- 61 replies

Only saw last 20-30 mins. All Brazil. Did look the one they didn't give was a goal, but that was immaterial in the end. Gotta feel sorry for Brazil. Wont get too many opportunities to win a tournament graced by the likes of Brazil, Italy and Spain.

The idea that the club can only be improved through one aim; ousting Murray, is surely false too? It might well bring about the biggest change, and possibly greatest improvement. Howevet it is certainly not the only way to improve the club.- 61 replies

Just took longer because mine is more detailed. Superior research.

From wiki: 16 in 54 for Bournemouth 06/08 6 in 36 for Wolves 08/present 4 in 11 Wales u21 07/08 1 in 10 for Wales 08/Present Wiki only shows league games/goals in the right hand box (sometimes get full stats lower down the page). Not an impressive strike rate but he is only 19. Will many of those be starts? Just checking soccerbase too. Only 4 starts in the league for Wolves. All comps: Wolves: 7 starts, 32 subs, 8 goals. Bournemouth: 42 starts, 17 subs, 16 goals. Unfortunately know nothing about him other than the stats I can find. Must have played for Wales u21 aged about 17 though. 10 full caps at 19 and getting some games for the team that won the Championship. Must have something about him. Edit: Jon beat me to it. :box:

More than I knew. Doesn't sound too promising, though he is young I guess.

Think the forum in question must be Wolves board on footy mad.

Easier to crap on other people's ideas than provide your own. Mocking people for trying to make a difference doesn't do you any favours.- 61 replies

Ha ha, true. Was just a response to the suggestion we should be looking at him.

Well they're not long out of administration.
-
Cercle Brugge have just got rid of him too I believe. Wasn't cutting it.
-
Ha ha. Can't argue with that.

Who? Who else have they sold Shroomz? Other than Clarkson.

A fit Stevie Naismith is a better player.

From what I heard Lennon didn't impress at Partick. Which is disappointing as he looked like a real prospect to me.
