He wasn't the same player, he couldn't make those runs anymore but he was still some player in a different sort of way, he would have gone to Italy, Sampdoria were after him around the time this happened.
Oh for an Albertz or Ian Ferguson who would just smash the ball from 20+ yards and either score or we would get a goal from a rebound, they try to walk it in and take too many touches, when all you need is to take it into space and hit it at first sight.
Can guarantee although it's a small step it would make a big difference to our play.
Ricksen was a numpty at right back but I always felt when he was switched to midfield he was a revelation, his running power was a large part of our success and he was often overlooked but he was a key man in midfield.°

Here are some I would class in this category
Stuart Munro
Gary Stevens
Kevin Drinkell
Nigel Spackman
Alex Cleland
Alan McLaren
David Robertson
Stuart McCall
Fernando Ricksen
Dado Prso
Can't believe their arrogance, ( well I can) I mean Liewell is enough hot air, but they have had 4 years the top league without us, still doesn't mean there brand is bigger globally and there will always be an Old Firm, wouldn't have the same appeal without us.
