I agree, under Gerrard (and I think Gio initially benefitted from this) we played well above our weight. But now we can't even be a solid team anymore. We shouldn't be getting bowled over 7-1 at home to ANY team. Even Real Madrid or Barcelona.

How come they haven't collapsed against better opposition then? Look at who they've played over the last few years, they've knocked it out the park.

What we honestly need is someone with the drive and experience (football experience) that Gerrard had. It's pretty clear he overhauled most of the club on his own terms. Since that was taken from him we've gone backwards.

Nah. You can be out your depth but still show passion and bite, we have very rarely shown any recently.

Change my mind: Gio is far better at setting up an energetic, aggressive team that pushes up against the opponent than a defensive one set up to contain. Its too bad his mentality doesn't seem to match his qualities.

Yeah, I agree. There was zero belief in the team that we could get anything from the match and we were just so passive. The match passed us by before we even realised we were in it. I want to see more passion and energy from the team, even in these difficult ties.

I’m surprised people think the team gave a good effort though. I didn’t see it, I don’t think the score line is unexpected but I didn’t see any passion or energy in the team, and that is a huge fault. We’ve got to this stage and we’ve played with all the energy of a wet fart.

See the setup has now changed and we actually seem to be up for a proper game all of a sudden. Honestly, I think Gio sets up a poor defensive team, he should just fuxking go for it.
