I was surprised to see a Mexican come on for Napoli. I thought all the Mexicans who could swim, jump or run fast were now Americans!?* *1980s Joke Loyal

'Ding dong' was a good phrase I heard (and still use) to describe that type of match. Two teams going right at it. I think modern football has killed a lot of the physical aspects of the Scottish game and is a contributory factor in how poorly our teams perform on the continent. Getting stuck in about them just gets you sent off nowadays.

I thought Yilmaz and Morelos played quite well. Tillman is good on the ball but hopeless off it. Kent was a waste of a shirt (standard these days). McGregor looked his age at the first two goals. We need changes...soon.
-
I expected worse. Terrible start (how hard is it to be organised?). Other than that, I thought we played okay but lacked any real belief and missed our only chances. Napoli never hit first gear, either - no doubt about that. The CL campaign has been horrible. Can't wait for it to be over.
-
Kent and Wright as the wingers...I'm back thinking we'll get humped.
-
Juventus and Torino's new stadiums are much more suitable. There's a housing estate in Turin where there are still visible parts of Torino's old ground, which they left decades ago (not too dissimilar to Cathkin Park) - I'd love to visit there.
-
Ah, we're wearing orange. That changes everything - I fancy us to win tonight.
-
Do you think we'll learn from the last CL horror show and actually attempt to tackle the opposition this evening? I find a beefy tackle is often a good kick-start (for the team) during a faltering performance. Maybe that's why we've been shite for months.

I heard bad reports about Stadio Del Alpi from Bears who attended our match there in the mid 90s. Inter are my preferred Italian side (Klinsmann and Football Italia are to blame). Been keen to go to the San Siro for years but the forthcoming demolition has been the necessary prompt to do it.

You're probably right. I'd just be looking to play as many players capable of defending well as possible.
-
I think that's just the section where they put English fans, CB. 😀
-
I'm not sure throwing him into the team for this fixture will help him settle. We need to make sure the forwards are willing to get back and become second defenders. I'd play 4-5-1 (crowd the midfield) and tell everyone to defend except Morelos... McGregor Tav King Davies Barisic Sakala Lundstram Sands Davis Matondo Morelos

I wonder where it'll be placed (I know it says the Copland Road end but there's a fair bit of space)?
-
Absolutely no chance. Best to focus on keeping the score down.

Well, today's the day. Sticking with @Franc Ergs' Captain Beefheart theme, I strongly suspect Napoli will 'booglarize' us. I'm going to try to watch it but can't promise I'll stick it out until full-time. Might need some 'long neck bottles'.
-
I'd rather they looked hungry and determined than either of those things.
-
I wonder if this crap will ever go away?
-
Looks a bit false to me but even if it isn't, I'm not sure what they've got to be laughing about at the moment. I'm sick of hoping for 'a reaction' this season. Just get out there and show some pride in yourselves, FFS.

Miami investor still keen to buy stake in Rangers
Gonzo79 replied to Uilleam's topic in Rangers Chat
Why would people with no connection to the club invest in Rangers? With English/Italian football, there's the prestige and 'sportswashing' side of it. In Scotland, what's to be gained? -
Already been and as far as I'm aware, there are no plans to demolish it (unlike the San Siro).
-
I sort of agree with you but I'd still prefer to go uber-defensive and maintain an air of respectability. I don't think team morale would benefit from another hiding.
-
Some of the things GvB and some of the players have said have me doubting he can turn things around. He's tried a few things but we never improve on a consistent basis.
-
I can still hear it hitting the back of the net (I was on the North terrace). Durrant was my favourite player then. We could do with a smidgen of his guile just now.

I'm taking the wee man over to Milan in April, with the intention of going to see the Inter v Fiorentina match while we're there. I've checked online about tickets but it seems there isn't a general sale until a couple of weeks before the match. Anyone have any advice about getting tickets or just general advice about the city (the wee man is 11, so piss ups are off the cards)?
