RANGERS Supporters Liaison Officer Jim Hannah has revealed he has had a staggering response from fans to the Fighting Fund where supporters can donate to help the club now. Hannah and club legend Sandy Jardine are in Belfast tonight to explain the initiative to the Northern Ireland supporters after launching the money-spinning project yesterday. There are 120 registered clubs in Ulster and most of them will have representation at the meeting tonight. Hannah said: "We have had a phenomenal response from people and we already had single donations of £20,000 and £5000 before launch. "On the other side of the scale one elderly lady came in last week and offered £20 from her pension. There are just fantastic stories developing all the time but the most important thing is to raise money for the club. "It's amazing what fans are willing to do. We have had offers from plumbers and painters that if work is needed at the club they will come in a do it for free. "Fans are just desperate to do what they can for the club whether it is financial or in other ways." The Rangers Fans Fighting Fund has been in the planning since Rangers went into administration and it is easy for fans to simply donate any sum they like which will be used to run the club day to day. Hannah said: "We worked on the idea for three weeks, basically as soon as the club went into administration. "We had a meeting last Saturday when we got 100 per cent from the supporters clubs and it was great that Kenny McDowall and Ian Durrant were both there. "That just showed the guys on the floor that the management team are right behind this project. "All the indications are that we can raise a big sum of money and if that can help the club out of administration then we will have been successful."

I haven't seen this myself, seemingly in the Record. Paul Murray quoted in today's Record saying that proper fan representation is a must. He says they are still working on the final numbers but it will be a three tier system. Cheapest is at £1000 2nd tier is £1000-£500,000 And a final tier at above £500,000. Each level will have board representation with a transparent selection process

Sir David Murray has told the Scottish Premier League they have no grounds for an inquiry into alleged double contracts for players during his era as Rangers owner. The probe followed claims made by former Ibrox director Hugh Adam that some payments were not included in official contracts that were registered with the SPL, with the 86-year-old "pretty sure" similar payments were being made as early as the mid-1990s. The payments allegedly left out of official contracts centred on the use of Employee Benefit Trusts (EBTs), which were the subject of a tax tribunal in January. Rangers, currently in administration, are still awaiting the outcome of the case regarding offshore payments made from 2001-10, which could cost the club up to £49million and which has been termed the 'big tax case'. The 'small tax case' is the £2.8million which first emerged last April, before Murray sold the club to Craig Whyte, due to similar offshore payments, but which has risen with interest and penalties. The Scottish Football Association initially pledged to look into the matter but then stepped back after the Scottish Premier League launched their own inquiry into the alleged non-disclosure to the SPL of payments to players. However, Mike McGill, former Ibrox board member and Murray Group financial director, said: "The club used an old offshore EBT scheme in 1999 with three players. "That scheme is the subject of the small tax case. "The Revenue provided some information to us in early 2011 and we conceded based on that information and provided for payment in the club accounts. Craig Whyte didn't pay it. "The other, larger scheme, started in 2001, involves a payment into an offshore trust, but there is no contractual entitlement on the part of the players. "The whole basis of an EBT arrangement is that there is not a contractual entitlement. "That is key to the defence, and key to the allegations made by the SFA." Murray claims he has yet to hear from the SFA or the SPL on the matter, saying: "I've never spoken to Stewart Regan (SFA chief executive) or Neil Doncaster (SPL chief executive) in my life." The former Rangers owner was just as adamant that everything to do with offshore payments was above board. He said: "I've asked the auditors to go through it. I've looked through every year to check my facts. "There was no double contract. There was categorically no dual contracts. "What I would say is this. We went through 10 AGMs. We signed off accounts by Grant Thornton, the remuneration trust was always mentioned in the account, it was never hidden. And that's a fact."

Would there not be contracts? Seems strange.

Copied from FF. Notes taken from the meeting at Ibrox. Sandy Jardineâ?¦â?¦..â?¦â?¦. welcomed all and introduced the top table of: Himself Jim Hannah Ian Durrant Kenny McDowall Andrew McCormack Durrant and McDowall were there representing the management team. McCormack, a chartered accountant (and Rangers fan), has been advising the group over the last few weeks. Ally McCoist and Walter Smith are fully behind the initiative, McCoist being the driving force â?? he was lauded by Jardine for his sterling efforts. Meeting was arranged to ensure that Rangers survive until a new owner is found. It was not about apportioning blame to anyone for the mess we find ourselves in. Players salaries needed addressed as they made up 72% of the clubs output â?? this delayed the date of the meeting. Jim Hannahâ?¦..... ....explained how the initiative was going to be implemented and how payment can be made. Payment is to be made into the Assembly bank account via any bank in the UK, or PayPal. It was noted that PayPal services may incur a charge. Information relayed would be honest and upfront. Daily updates of finances will be available on the Assembly Facebook page. Monies are to be used for any shortfall in the weekly running of the club. Money is to be micro-managed and the administrators need to ask the group committee for cash before it gets released. Group committee through correspondence with fans group members to decide on what any excess monies accrued are to be used for when we emerge from Administration. An appeal for new initiatives from fans was made. Respond through your group representative or e-mail Jim Hannah with your suggestion. A proposal was made whether to ask Hamburg or Portsmouth to a benefit game at Ibrox. Following a show of hands it was decided that Hamburg would be the opponents. JH advised that he had been working behind the scenes and that Hamburg have agreed to play for their expenses only, relinquishing their match fee. 43,000 Union Flags have been purchased to be sold at £2 a go for the forthcoming Bheast game. Andrew McCormackâ?¦â?¦.. â?¦â?¦. advised that all monies raised will go towards the running costs of the club; none of it will be used on legal or administrators fees. The group will speak to administrators every Friday to get a financial update. He advised that Craig Whyte will leave the club with nothing. This was also the opinion of the administrators. Duff and Phelps are legally obliged to provide financial statements at the end of their term. Every penny in and out of the club during their administration must be accounted for. Q & A Session. SJ â?? buying products from the club shop sees a percentage of the cash going to JJB. Itâ??s better if all the cash goes to the club. AM â?? Martin Bainâ??s £600,000 is still frozen. AM - Any new owner of the club will start with a clean slate; No Azure, No JJB etc. AM â?? Season Ticket cash for next season cannot be used by the administrators as it is next seasons money. This gets put aside into what is called a â??trust accountâ??. In effect itâ??s ring-fenced. Offer from one supporters club to assist on painting, cleaning up etc of the stadium. SJ welcomed this and other such offers. Red and Black scarf campaign has raised £11k â?? JH & SJ thought it a strange choice of colour. The RST member disagreed. One Supporters club stated that clubs should hold functions to raise cash, signed shirt auctions etc â?? this was agreed by all. SJ- SPL can take cash from our share of monies accrued from league position at the end of the season to pay what we owe to other member clubs. SJ - Cut off point to prevent a 10 point penalty for next season is last game of the season, usually the cup final. SJ - John Grieg wants to come back to the club and hopes to when everything has settled down. JH â?? Donald Findlay has been advising and will continue to advise on legal matters, offering his services for free. SJ & AM â?? Itâ??s unknown what the current debt is. Saverangers.com campaign suspended to avoid confusion and to focus on the Fighting Fund. The emphasis is getting the cash in now.. Bobby Roddie (Association, I think) stated that no expenses have been or will be taken by anyone on the RRFG. Discussion on boycotting away fixtures, received mixed responses. Arsenal Supporters Trust sending letters to their supporters clubs asking them to assist us in our plight. The possibility of showing away games on beam-back at Ibrox was suggested, with a flute band on at half time. SJ â?? SPL take 20% of any income, and any games in the past have shown just a small profit. Request made to use some of the cash to hire a quality PR thatâ??s going to defend the club, with point being made that Media House were hopeless. Show of hands asked for to determine agreement on the RFFG as the way ahead. Unanimous result in favour returned. Future ownership was raised â?? weâ??ve been left with a void to fill. Gordon Smith and Ai Russell have been removed, and weâ??ve had the situation of having no Directors representing the club at our away fixtures. SJ said that there were 7 interested buyers on Friday, but after a talking with admin said that this was flushed down to just the 3. SJ asked if any of those attending would like to join the RFFG â?? 4 volunteers were welcomed by SJ, they then introduced themselves to the meeting. Minutes of the meeting not to be issued on the web until press release from the RFFG early in the coming week. This was to try and ensure that everyone is on board and singing from the same hymn sheet by the time of the release. Another meeting will be scheduled for a monthâ??s time with updates on progress given in between. A vote of thanks was given to the top table for their efforts and the meeting was closed

Well said. We should concentrate on uniting the fans rather than ownership. Just think what a united Rangers Support could achieve, it actually wouldn't matter who owned the Club.
-
Surely they have to disclose there plans and who is involved, before asking for money. Also how the fans part would work.
-
Don't know the guy from Adam, but isn't this one of the downfalls of fan ownership .... personalities. We do like a good arguement us Rangers Supporters. MD is certainly the leading light in the RST, but would they take the lead in organising the fans? Would a fan if they were on the Board, not just be there for a couple of years, before someone else was voted in? Who decides these things?

How Many Schemes to Save Rangers Are There
chilledbear replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
To be honest if I give money to Rangers, I would like to have something solid like shares in return. I would not give money to see it disappear down an empty hole, I want to know where it is going, and someone I trust who is accountable for it. -

What I don't understand is Ticketus invoved with the blue knights, yet some reports say the administrators are going after them next week. -

You have echoed my post. 'The sooner we get the fans together' I also agree it is important there is a membership scheme or share issue. -

If Taking This Pay Cut Helps Save my Club Then It's Worth It
chilledbear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
'Supporters like this. 'Then two of our highest paid players, both out injured just now, told the Administrators that their wage cut should only be 50% as they couldn’t earn win bonuses. This despite picking up their full wages to date while on the sick and not being able to kick a ball in achieving those wins. The Administrators were angered that they were backtracking on the agreement and were ready to make them redundant and implement the agreement among the other players' I don't want to hark on, but this from unnamed sources make me really angry.
