  1. Miller's goal and the move leading up to it, was very good. TBH I expected him to miss.
  2. Enjoy. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6bQV1LK5I8]YouTube - Rangers - Manchester City 3-2 All Goals & Highlights[/ame]
  3. I don't agree with quite a few, do you? Neil Alexander 7 - Looked as sound as ever. No chance with City goals. Steven Whittaker 5 - Looked dangerous on front foot but passing was awful. David Weir 7 - Rock solid for most of night except Ireland's strike but he hit late winner. Madjid Bougherra 8 - Gers best player. Cool on ball yet strong as an ox in the tackle. Sasa Papac 6 - Good outlet on left but couldn't get on same wavelength as Naismith. Lee McCulloch 7 - Growing in stature as anchorman in midfield. Didn't panic on ball. Steven Davis 7 - Quiet spells but still injected pace into attack. Fine pass for Miller goal. Pedro Mendes 6 - Pushed a bit further forward than usual with McCulloch sitting behind. Nacho Novo 7 - Same old Nacho. Missed sitter then hit great goal a minute later. Kenny Miller 6 - Poor touch too often but made amends with super lob for leveller. Steven Naismith 5 - Struggled to make an impact from wide left.
  4. You got a stutter.
  5. They will, but they probably deserved it in the end. I would have been very disappointed if we couldn't have got through against DM.
  6. I for one, hopes CA does well at Blackpool ''Really enjoyed the game tonight, two good goals from the Pool and a scrappy one for the Toffees after a mistake from a young keeper, can't complain really. I was quite shocked when I saw Evertons line-up, it was there first team bar injured players and we played very well. Charlie stepped straight back in and performed at the level of his loan spell, what a gem we have got ourselves there''. Probably they will sell him for £1m in January.
  7. Who does he have as an agent?? That will give the answer.

  9. I'm down here in the East Midlands, anybody could have seen Commons was a prospect when with Forest. That lad with Everton Jagielka [sp] was playing away with Sheffield, for a while before he was picked up. On a personal note, my son wrote to Rangers 8/9 years ago about the lad who just signed for Derby from Blackpool for £1m. With all the Rangers Supporters in England, I don't think it would take much to set something up.
  10. Do we need another midfielder?
  11. I know, but if you have no money and want to buy cheap and make a profit!!!
  12. You can catch these players 1/2 years earlier with a good scouting system.
  13. Noticed this in Times Online, any signing we might make could be in here. The Sunday Times asked two men who specialise in assessing football talent to pick teams of Football League players capable of prospering in the top tier. Some have played in the Premier League already, the majority are in the early stages of their career, and the common complaint was how to narrow down their selections to 11. Ewan Chester is Rangers’ chief scout with a Scottish silverware count of 33 trophies in 20 seasons. In between his two spells at Ibrox, Chester helped Livingston escape relegation by bringing in nine players before leaving to head and restructure Fulham's scouting department. “It was a wrench to leave Fulham and a league of the quality of the Premier League,” says Chester. “I only left because it was Walter Smith and Rangers asking.” Lee Matthews is a football consultant for Sports Management International, an agency that includes former pros Neil Cox and Chris Whyte, and works closely with BHP Sport, headed by former Liverpool striker David Hodgson. A contemporary of Jonathan Woodgate and Paul Robinson at Leeds United, Matthews’ playing career was blighted by injury as he hopscotched around 10 clubs before retiring in 2007. “We’re a young, ambitious group who want to build good relationships with the clubs rather than make a quick buck,” says Matthews, who helped striker Robert Snodgrass move from Livingston to Leeds last year. “As former pros, it’s easier for us to understand how precarious life is in the lower divisions.” The experts pick their winners Lee Matthews’ XI (Football consultant, Sports Management International) Jason Steele (Middlesbrough, goalkeeper, age 18) Adam Matthews (Cardiff, right-back, 17) Mark Beevers (Sheff Wed, centre-back, 19) Miles Addison (Derby, centre-back, 20) Joe Mattock (Leicester, left-back, 19) Robert Snodgrass (Leeds, right wing, 21) Joe Ledley (Cardiff, centre midfield, 22) Fabian Delph (Leeds, centre midfield, 19) Adam Johnson (Middlesbrough, left wing, 22) Ross McCormack (Cardiff, forward, 22) Connor Wickham (Ipswich, forward, 16) Ewan Chester’s XI (Chief scout, Glasgow Rangers) Joe Lewis (Peterboro’, goalkeeper, 21) Gianni Zuiverloon (West Brom, right-back, 22) Andre Bikey (Reading, centre-back, 24) Zak Whitbread (Millwall, centre-back, 25) Joe Mattock (Leicester, left-back, 19) Adam Lallana (Southampton, right midfield, 21) Fabian Delph (Leeds, centre midfield, 19) Graham Dorrans (WBA, centre midfield, 22) Kris Commons (Derby, left midfield, 25) Tamas Priskin (Watford, centre-forward, 22) Adam Johnson (Middlesbrough, left wing, 22)
  14. It was a worthwhile exercise moneywise it seems. Emirates Cup adds millions to club coffers03 August 2009 | By Adam Fraser | Notes & Insights | Analysis | Soccer Popular articlesThe worldââ?¬â?¢s 200 most valuable sports properties Hicks and Gillett count cash as Benitez hails success Benitez reluctant to sell despite financial constraints Rangers finances ââ?¬Ë?suffering compared to Celticââ?¬â?¢ ESPN to offer free Premier League footageMore than 110,000 fans passed through the gates at Arsenalââ?¬â?¢s Emirates Stadium for the Emirates Cup this weekend, swelling the clubââ?¬â?¢s coffers by more than US$6.5 million. At an average ticket price of UKÃ?£35 (US$59), the 110,982 fans who attended the tournament featuring Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Paris St-Germain and Rangers added a sizeable amount to the clubââ?¬â?¢s bank balance before sponsorship, including the title sponsorship with Emirates and major sponsors such as bet-at-home.com, is even taken into account. The tournament, managed by agency Kentaro, saw Arsenal regain the trophy thanks to wins over Rangers and Atletico Madrid, with 17-year-old midfielder Jack Wilshere shining in front of a crowd including England manager Fabio Capello, and collecting two man of the match awards. In the other matches, Rangers recorded a 1-0 win over PSG, who secured a draw in their clash with Atletico Madrid, which finished 1-1 after Ludovic Giuly cancelled out a Sergio Aguero penalty. [[Each of the visiting clubs is believed to have received an appearance fee of more than US$1 million.]] The next issue of SportsPro magazine, available at the start of September, will feature an in-depth analysis of the Emirates Cup tournament as part of a special feature on the business of soccer. 15. One of the diamonds from Timmy tonight. 'We went on to create a number of clear cut chances, you need these chances to fall to the right players, unfortunately for us they fell to our strikers'.
  16. Mibee aye, mibee naw.
  17. Imagine building your team round McGeedy.
