Breaking News - Murray Steps Down as Chairman

Recommended Posts

Couldn't do a much worse job than Murray lately. Perhaps he'll be a bit more logical with the spending instead of impulsively swinging one way then the other.

Let's hope he's got a much better idea of how to run a football club.

My take on it.

The banks are putting pressure on and Murray doesn't like or want to be told what to do, so he's chucked his toys out of the pram and resigned, leaving the remaining directors to run the company, while he will just sit back as owner but nothing else.

Isn't that what happened when he passed the buck over to McLelland?

While McClelland was Chairman, I don't think for a moment that there were any decisions made that Murray wasn't involved in. He was still a director, and still pulling the strings.

I get the feeling that he will be much more hands-off this time around, and would only get involved in decisions on increasing bank lending, but will allow the others to run the club from month-to-month.
