Seems like someone want's to own half the club for free.

 

Give a 30M Bridging loan and own the club. Get fans to put in 45M in 3 years to own 50%. The club pays back the loan.

 

That means the fans put in 45M and own half, the businessman puts in 0 and owns half...

 

Doesn't add up.

Joe Lewis was my first thought but he's not a Scottish expatriate. Also, hasn't he invested in Spurs and if any move to EPL materialised then he wouldn't be allowed a stake in two clubs.

The one interesting thing for me is that Simon Bain is a finance reporter for The Herald which perhaps lends a bit more weight to his claims.

I think the question is relevant mostly because there is no shortage of candidates.

 

As for �£1000 per annum, there will be also be no shortage of people to take this up. Only in my opinion of course.

Depends on how one can finance it. If it is interest free as was the bunnet's scheme; then the take-up might well be possible...

Sounds like a rather expensive bridging loan to me. It doesn't seem to equate to being a good deal for anyone other than the provider of the bridging loan. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the idea.
