Definitely hope he gets back to full fitness eventually, because we are carrying him right now. Maybe he should play next few months with reserves to get fit, as we cant afford to have him off the pace so much.

Saying that, theres a few others who should be in the reserves!!

Whittaker has had a few shockers this year and has been found out defensively. Davis has been another major disappointment and with the midfield mis-firing what chance do the strikers have?

The bubble might have burst where he's concerned. Looking that way but time will tell.

I'm getting a bit concerned about him to be honest. Time always tells whether players are the same again after doing their cruciate and by all accounts his injury was on the acute end of the scale in terms of such injuries. There doesn't seem to be many signs so far of him returning to the terrific player pre-injury though perhaps I'm being impatient. If he's a passenger come Easter it'll be hugely disappointing.

It's time to give some young guys a decent chance they can't do any worse than these imposters.

I'd love nothing more but it does seem to me that all our most promising youngsters don't play in the positions where we really need strengthening - i.e. wide midfield and right back. Unless maybe Shinnie is ready, perhaps he could play there, I dunno.

Don't think Shinnie is a winger mate, more of an attacking central midfielder that can also play in the hole behind/just off the strikers. Wylde is a left winger though. He plays left back or left wing.

Gav, there is no way were Thomson's instructions at blame for his performance on Tuesday night IMO.

He was very much off the pace. At one point a Stuttgart player had the ball at his feet and he beat Thomson for pace by about 5 yards (and that was him keeping control of the ball whilst Thomson just had to get back). Also far too often he either ball-watched or was just too lazy to track back. A number of times he was just sauntering back whilst Stuttgart advanced into dangerous positions.

Simply put he needs dropped. IMO Edu would be the man in possession, when fit, and not Thomson - and I say this as someone who thought Thomson would be our captain shortly.

Agree with Craig...

I was one of Thomson's biggest fans before his latest injury but since he's returned he's been dreadful. Tuesday night was his 13th game of the season so he should really be sharper and more mobile than he has been by now.
