Gordon Smith Sporting Director?

Recommended Posts

Welcome to Rangers, Gordon Smith. Looks like Ali Russell will be joining you upstairs.

Am also told Bougherra will be sold as bids are about to be made for Cuellar and Bartley. May be up to seven new players signed.

Exciting stuff if it comes off!

Great news all round. Get rid of Bougherra and get in 2 actually good defenders. Would be thrilled with this business.

That's what it means but I didn't randomly pick that number.

Watch this space.

Sounds like exciting times.

Yes - wide-ranging and exciting stuff. Let's see if it all comes off though.

PS: Russell appointment confirmed by club.

This seems to imply Russell is taking over Bain's job?

Sounds more like Bain's job is being split between Russell and Smith. I'm sure it's a lot more complex than that, but that seems like the general jist of it.

Seems like Whyte is quietly going about his business putting all the pieces of his jigsaw in place.

Positive appointments, fixtures being released, signings coming our way, been a while since I felt happy with what's going at the club.

Smith could be a good move for us. 'm not sure exactly what the role will be but when he worked for the SFA i think he hinted that he had some exciting fresh ideas. Of course the dinosors at the SFA wouldn't have it. Time will tell.
