I think this 'dangerous loose cannon' is fully loaded for the coming season, this is why he is their manager - us bluenoses must continue to pile on the grief for the cnut. The septic fans love him just for his 'non footy' agenda, the board are content as it sells season tickets just for that reason, but failure to win the championship will soon see him go. The plastic paddies will always want him, but the true football fans will be glad to see the back of him. Scottish football can do without his publicity.

Ally has a huge responsibility, but he needs serious backing from Whyte.

I thought he enjoyed a "wee wind up".

I'm sure this is what he said after cupping his ears at Ibrox a few short months ago.

I think what he meant was that he enjoys it when HE'S doing the winding up.

If this is anything to go by, regarding his press quotes, it's going to be another season fraught with problems.

CHEEKY Australian Rangers supporters’ chief John Magee has hit back at Neil Lennon and told the Celtic manager to get a life.

Magee spoke out after Lennon claimed the Ibrox faithful were ‘obsessed with us (Celtic)’ - after the Perth Rangers Supporters Club hired a small plane, complete with a banner which read: Rangers FC champions 3-in-a-row Perth RSC, and flew it over the nib Stadium, ahead of Celtic’s weekend friendly win over Perth Glory.

The Rangers fan claimed it was a wind-up and Lennon’s reaction was completely out of order.

Magee, initially from Hamilton, said: “I can’t understand Neil Lennon’s comments. What is he all about? He thinks everyone holds a grudge against him but it was a bit of crack, a wind-up.

“He should lighten up and relax. It was a bit of humour and Celtic fans are never slow to have a pop at us over here when the situation merits it.”

Lennon, speaking after his team’s 2-0 victory over Perth Glory, said: “I heard about it. “You would think they would have had better things to do, like following their team in Germany. Than paying a lot of money to noise us up. I think they are a wee bit obsessed with us at the moment.”

Perth Glory manager and ex-Rangers player Ian Ferguson kidded on he was behind the move. “It was nice to see and the Celtic camp also took it in good spirits,” Ferguson admitted. “Mind you it cost me about a week’s wages.”

Magee revealed that the plan for the aeroplane had been hatched the previous weekend by the 500 strong Perth and Rockingham Rangers supporters’ clubs. He explained: “There’s a massive Celtic contingent in Australia. We thought when they’re all together in the one ground, why don’t we give them a noise up they won’t forget.

“We all got together last weekend, members of the Rockingham and Perth RSCs and talked about what we could do to wind up the Celtic fans. The banner was the idea of Gary Bellingham, who runs the Perth RSC. We all chipped in to pay the Ã?£600 to hire the light aircraft for two hours from Jandakot Airport in Perth. It worked a treat.”
