And still the nonsense about the admins motives continues, why don't the experts leave admin to do their job rather than carry on like drama queens.

I agree. The RST twitter is on one right now. Says to me they know something

Keith Jackson in the Record

BILL MILLER is on the brink of pushing through his takeover of Rangers after Brian Kennedy and Paul Murray refused to copy the Americanâ??s newco plan.

Record Sport can reveal the ravaged clubâ??s administrators urged Kennedy to adopt Millerâ??s hybrid blueprint which will see the 140-year-old club reborn and possibly banned from Europe for its first three years.

But, during late night talks in Manchester on Monday night, Kennedy made it clear neither he nor Murray would be prepared to sanction such a strategy.

And now Miller looks set to be handed the keys to Ibrox as soon as he comes up with the £500,000 exclusivity fee required to secure preferred bidder status.

Late last night it was still being stressed by sources close to the saga no deal had been completed and that the Murray-Kennedy alliance had not yet been discounted by Duff and Phelps.

But Miller has claimed pole position and, if he follows through with his promises to weigh in with a cash deposit, then the stricken clubâ??s future will be in the Americanâ??s hands â?? possibly as soon as today.

Joint administrators Paul Clark and David Whitehouse believe it will be easier for any buyer to go newco rather than persuade Craig Whyte to hand over his 85.3 per cent majority holding in the old club.

If Whyteâ??s shares canâ??t be secured by the administrators then Kennedy and Murray canâ??t proceed with their own rescue package, which would see the club exit administration through a CVA with its history intact.

And last night Whyte was showing no sign of giving up his shares despite his catastrophic 10 months in charge.

The administrators insist there are other issues which need to be resolved for the Murray-Kennedy offer to pass a CVA.

But Whyte remains a major road block and the administrators have urged Kennedy and Murray to consider going down the newco route in order to simplify an already highly complex situation.

But neither of them are prepared to go back on promises they made to fans to fight off any kind of liquidation.

And that means trucking tycoon Miller is now in the driving seat. The news that the Kennedy-Blue Knights consortium are refusing to buckle to the pressure to agree to reform Rangers as a fledgling club may surprise manager Ally McCoist who spent yesterday insisting both of the bids on the table involve setting Rangers up as a newco.

McCoist said: â??Both potential purchasers have a newco as part of their plan but not liquidation.

â??Itâ??s an important point because I think the majority of fans donâ??t want liquidation.â?

McCoistâ??s comments caused a great deal of consternation within the Kennedy-Murray camp yesterday.

Within an hour they had rushed out a statement which read: â??Following inaccurate media reports, the Blue Knights/Brian Kennedy Consortium wishes to clarify its position.

â??Firstly, on Saturday evening, April 28, 2012, we submitted a materially increased offer which will be confirmed by the administrators, Duff & Phelps.

â??Secondly, and for the avoidance of doubt, our offer is conditional on a CVA and the delivery of Craig Whyteâ??s shares. If successful, this will retain the SPL membership share in RFC 1899.â?

The Murray-Kennedy bid is completely conditional on saving the 1899 company and ensuring it emerges from this crisis as a solvent business.

Last night, though, Kennedy, Murray and the rest of their consortium were bracing themselves for the news Miller has won the battle for control

European football is gone for a while no matter what happens, if it's a newco doesn't the NC just buy the contracts as an asset of the club the same way they buy Ibrox or Auchenhowie. As for leaving for free I'm sure it's been reported that the highest paid of our players have a clause that if Whyte isn't gone but 1st of June they can walk anyway.

I know we all know this but..... Craig Whyte is a CUNT !

In all the furore over Preferred bidder status, newco, CVA - we almost (only almost) are forgetting that this crooked bastard is holding out for a sizeable 7 figure payoff - having spent 1 quid on buying us.

Charlatan doesnt even begin to describe him.

Most notorious person to ever be associated with Rangers ? Probably.

Apologies for the crass language but this particular cretin deserves it, and more.

Cant agree with that part craig, it will always be DM for me. He started this with the over spending, the tax case, selling to CW shafting the fans. It will always be him for me.

As I described in my blog, Murray is no innocent, but he is not responsible for us being in administration. The blame there is solely Whyte and his illegal activities at Ibrox, which forced this administration, which as I said, he is bizarrely being let off the hook by HMRC who say he's done no worse than forgetting to pay his energy bill.

Murray followed a dream, an irresponsible dream, one we all bought into, and engaged the use of EBTs which are not illegal.

It's also possible for Murray to have been plain stupid in selling to a charlatan. So desperate to get shot of the club, he sold to the first man who showed genuine interest and who 'didn't go away'.

Surely the most notorious person to ever be associated with Rangers is Nuno Capucho ;)
