by Lindsay Herron

RANGERS will face another side from the north or east of the country when the draw is made today for the second round of the Ramsdens Cup.

The next phase of the competition is still regionalised and as Rangers replaced Dundee in the first round, they remain in the North/East section.

It will be an open draw today at Ramsdens' store at the Forge Shopping Centre in Glasgow's east end at 2pm.

So the clubs Rangers could face are as follows:

ARBROATH

COWDENBEATH

EAST FIFE

FALKIRK

FORFAR ATHLETIC

MONTROSE

RAITH ROVERS

In the South/West section the teams are:

AIRDRIE UNITED

ANNAN ATHLETIC

EAST STIRLINGSHIRE

MORTON

PARTICK THISTLE

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH

QUEEN'S PARK

STENHOUSEMUIR

Former Rangers director of football Gordon Smith is making the draw and the ties are due on August 14 or 15.

Rangers made their way through to the draw after yesterday's 2-1 extra time with at Brechin.

There were a few casualties in the first round with former SPL side Dunfermline losing 3-2 at Forfar, Livingston were defeated 1-0 by Annan while Airdrie beat Lanarkshire rivals Hamilton by the same score.

We'll bring you the draw as it happens on the official web site.
