A bit late ... and I'll update the thread with news of the last games ... here's actually a video of our Ladies defeat to their counterparts from beyond the Clyde. With a hole host of new players we are still early in the season and by the looks of it, some work still needs to be done. There is some rather strange merry-go-round within Scottish football, with probably onl a few exceptions, as players move from club to club and sometimes backwards rather regularly. This, the opposition actually started with 5 ex. Rangers Ladies in their ranks, two of whom scored doubles.

NB: The Scumhuts looks it usual self.

GAME DAY: Rangers travel to Stirling University to take on @StirUniFLP in today's @SWPL match. KO is 4PM and entry is £3 adults/£1 kids.

Updates: https://twitter.com/RFC_Ladies

Meanwhile, our Ladies have suffered heavy losses in their last two games, going down 3-0 against Glasgow City in the SWPL on May 15th, then getting hammered 6-0 by Hibs on May 22nd, being 5-0 down at HT. Not exactly encouraging news ... again, after we started rather well last season, only to "fall apart" after the break. Then again, it is not exactly good to have 7 to 9 new players each season, with nigh whole first teams coming and going.

Well, it seems like our reporter hasn't checked the Rangers Ladies' twitter account regarding the previous two games (vs City and Hibs). Yesterday saw the Ladies beaten for the third straight time, rather unfortunate though ...

Ladies: Stirling Uni 1:0 Rangers

Monday, 30 May 2016, 09:00 by Mark Hendry

RANGERS succumbed to their first domestic defeat in three matches after a disappointing loss away to Stirling University.

An 88th minute Emma Lyons winner sealed the three points for Stirling despite Gers dominating for long spells throughout.

Lyons’ goal for the hosts allowed Stirling to pick up their second domestic victory of the season and saw Rangers slip down into fourth place in the SWPL.

The Light Blues could have opened the scoring on 15 minutes when Chantelle Brown got a run on Stirling goalkeeper Chloe Logan.

The stopper failed to gather the ball and after it bounced over the keeper’s head, Brown tapped towards goal only to see her shot cleared off the line by the back-tracking Rebecca Blair.

Hayley Sinclair was next to trouble Chloe Logan in the Stirling goal but the keeper was equal to it this time on the half hour mark.

Rangers began to take control of the contest and Chantelle Brown had two terrific chances to open the scoring late in proceedings.

Lauren Doran-Barr picked out Brown who leathered the cross-bar before the 77th minute when Brown was once again denied by a spectacular Chloe Logan save onto the post.

The game looked like it was heading for a goalless draw when Lyons stepped up to steal the victory for Stirling with moments to spare.

A Rebecca Blair free kick was controlled brilliantly at the back-post by Nicole Pullar who sent an inch perfect cross into Lyons who tapped the ball home from six yards.

Player of the Match: Chantelle Brown.

Ladies: Rangers 7-0 East Fife

Monday, 13 June 2016, 15:00

by Maryanne Orr

RANGERS Ladies put seven past East Fife as they progressed to the third round of the Scottish Cup yesterday at New Tinto Park.

A hat-trick from striker Katey Turner, a double from captain Clare Gemmell and goals from Megan Foley and Hayley Sinclair saw the Gers through.

In the opening ten minutes, Turner and fellow forward Lisa Swanson, linked up well to create a number of chances but neither could break the deadlock in those early chances.

It didn’t take much longer through and it was Turner two opened her account for the day. She battled past a number of East Fife defenders before slotting past the visiting keeper to make it 1-0 to Rangers.

Just five minutes later, Turner was in again. Swanson swung the ball into the penalty area and her shot was headed away but Turner was there on the edge of the box to collect. She skipped away from her marker and blasted the ball home.

Rangers continued their constant pressure and within moments, the captain added a third. On the 20 minute mark, Rangers won a corner and it was Turner who stood over the set piece. She floated the ball in and Gemmell was at the front post to guide the ball into the back of the net.

The Light Blues’ fourth game from another corner, Gemmell found Megan Foley at the back post who was free to score despite the best efforts of the East Fife defenders to clear.

The rest of the first half passed without incident and Rangers came out with just as much pressure in the second half.

In the opening minutes of the second period, Turner, Sinclair and Swanson all had shots but none were on target.

Within ten minutes of the restart, Rangers had scored again. Gemmell started the play off after collecting a clearance from an East Fife defender. She played the ball off to the left where Sinclair and Chantelle Brown played a quick one-two before Brown played it back to Gemmell. The captain slotted the ball into the bottom corner making it 5-0 to Rangers.

It was just over an hour played when Turner completed her hat trick. Her initial attempt came off an East Fife player and fell to her again and she hit it first time into the goal, out of the keepers reach.

With 15 minutes left to play, Hayley Sinclair rounded off the day’s scoring. Swanson played the ball through to Sinclair who ran towards the by-line before blasting the ball into the net from a tight angle.

With the 7-0 victory, Rangers are in the pot for the third round of the Scottish Cup but first they host city rivals Celtic at home in the league on Sunday 19th June.
