Would the tax advantages of the VCT's/EIS's mean that they could sell below the placing price but still exit in profit?

It's possible, although there's obviously a risk that the value could fall below that level as well. There's also a certain amount of time that they need to hold onto the shares so that they can benefit from the tax.

You have to think that the market in our shares will continue to be illiquid so there's also a big question mark as to who would buy the shares if they decide to sell.

So the man how sees a good business opportunity, but will keeps us within our means is worse than a somebody who will use us as a plaything for his excess money is a bad thing.

I'm sorry but you 2 really need to get a grip on reality.

But I doubt you will.

It's certainly a good business opportunity for some but most definitely not for all.

You seem to be under the rather misguided assumption that because I'm anti money being sucked out the club in the form of dividends or inflated salaries that I must favour the Sugar Daddy approach, there are umpteen variations between those 2 extremes.

Perhaps it's you and your ilk who need to get a grip of reality however unpalatable that reality is.

I don't see how this situation is an extreme unless any dividends cripple the club.
