SPL clubs give 'unanimous backing' to proposed reforms

Recommended Posts

You never know what you can influence if you don't even try and kick up a fuss.

Well you've got me wrong mate, I realise it's not going to happen tomorrow but I believe 100% it should be our long term ambition. We've been at the top of Scottish football for a long time but everyone wanted us killed and that won't change in the future. Of course we need to tackle it head on while we're still here but we also need to work towards getting out in the background and leave them all to rot whenever is possible.

i disagree. we are scottish, we belong here, this is our home and this is where we should stay. i am not one for cowaring away. our enemy wants a fight, lets give them one.

do you reckon this is a pr stunt to get a sponsor on board or to confirm the tv deal mate?

I think, to pitch Scottish Football to sponsors and broadcasters, they need to know what changes are going to happen over the next 5 years (or however long they want those deals to run for).

Also, to save the cash strapped SPL clubs, they need to make deals which involve us. because, without Rangers, any sponsorship or broadcasting deal is worth no more than 50%.

Obviously, both of those objectives can be achieved without shafting us out of what we were told we were playing for at the start of the season - so you've got to wonder if maybe it's being done out of malice.

i dont think there is any doubt it is being done out of out and out hatred mate. our problem is we cannot do anything about it.

We'd always be a Scottish club, just not playing in the Scottish system.

I'd see it as increasing outr ambitions rather than cowaring away.

when have our club or fans ever been truly ambitious? this is not about ambition, this is about running away from scottish football.

Ought to protect clubs from the situation we find ourselves in, and was clearly intended to do so, but I can see a few technicalities in how it's phrased that could be used to circumvent it.

Well that's one thing the club can do. We can put it in writing to them and then if we're still ignored we can take them to court.

The question is does Green feel strongly enough about this to take it to the courts?
