Seems you were right GS, Wilson just signed a 3 year deal with Hearts. Disappointed that we couldnt have convinced him to return to us. The lad was quality when he was last here and is still only 21.

Hearts have secured the signing of Danny Wilson from Liverpool on a three-year contract.

Danny Wilson: Has made a permanent move to Hearts

The defender spent the last four months on loan at Tynecastle from Anfield and will sign a permanent deal when his Liverpool contract expires.

The 21-year-old, who left Rangers for Liverpool in a £2million move in 2010, told Hearts News: "It didn't take me long to decide about committing myself to Hearts once the club made it known they were keen to keep me.

"I just want to play football and I firmly believe that staying at Tynecastle will benefit my career.

"I really enjoyed my time on loan here and am very pleased the move has been made permanent. This is a great club with great supporters and I'm looking forward to helping bring more success to Hearts.

"I believe the club has a bright future with a lot of good young players and being part of that excites me."

Wilson is Gary Locke's first signing as manager and he comes in with fellow centre-back Marius Zaliukas set to depart.

Locke said: "I'm delighted that Danny has decided to sign for the club permanently. He has a wealth of experience despite only being 21 years old and has already shown how talented he is in his loan spell here.

"I'd like to thank Liverpool for allowing him to come here in the first instance, and Danny himself for showing faith in this club and choosing us when there was interest elsewhere.

"This is the type of player I'm wanting to attract to the club and I firmly believe that if he continues to play the way that he can then he'll be called back up to the Scotland squad in no time at all."

people are saying we were offered him and at a good wage but ally simply doesn't fancy him.

to that if true i say hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wilson will never be strong enough to be a proper solid centre half. I have stood next to him and he is very slight with wee chicken legs.

As for rumours, Peralta, Clark and Humphries could be the next 3 in the door. After those 3, the only others linked that i have seen are Novo, Miller and Boyd. If we get those 6 i would fancy us for the domestic quadruple!

The CEO said Ally gave him a list of names of players for every position and he had made an offer to all the players on Allys list.

when did you stand next to him?

oh and davie weir is ridiculously skinny.

Some footballers tend to. Wilson never looked that centre-halfish to me, that said, Bocanegra ain't a British CH either.

As for skinny people ... here's Templeton alongside three lassies of our Ladies' team

footballers are all really skinny. even the supposedly fat ones.

i've met mols and gvb incredibly skinny. i've met bob malcom and charlie adam. skinny by anyones standard.

danny wilson was 17 when playing for rangers and i still saw him dump christian nade on his arse.

i repeat 17.

he could bulk up easily. it's not hard and only takes a few months. calories protein and weights are all it takes. but davie weir clearly never needed to.

Rangers allowed to play pre-contract signings before September despite transfer embargo

The Scottish Football Association and the Scottish Football League on Tuesday night confirmed that Rangers’ new signings will be eligible to play for them in July and August in spite of the fact that the transfer embargo placed on the club last year means that they are unable to be registered with the former until Sept 1.

By Ewing Grahame - 7:00AM BST 29 May 2013

Queen of the South striker Nicky Clark on Tuesday followed Dundee United forward Jon Daly, Motherwell playmaker Nicky Law and Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell, who had already signed pre-contract deals at Ibrox.

And, while there are restrictions on the amount of competitive football they can play, manager Ally McCoist will be delighted to discover that all four can participate in any or all of the club’s pre-season challenge matches.

McCoist, in mid-March, was resigned to being bottom of the Second Division by the end of August because he believed that he would be prevented from fielding his new signings in the opening fixtures.

“When has a manager said before that he might have to put out a team that might lose their first four games of the season?” he asked. "That's the situation and it's madness."

Fortunately for McCoist, there is a loophole in the existing regulations which he can exploit.

Telegraph

Is that old news clad in new words? AFAIK, we were always able to field any player we like as trialist for up to four times in league games.

As for McCoist's comments, I assume these journos don't do irony. None of the players who won us the Third's Championship have left and thus we won't be needing a team of youngsters anyway. I for one am not under the impression that the Second Division teams will pose a greater thread than most of the Third's ... "cup final" approach or not.
