Clubs in the Second and Third Divisions will meet on Tuesday to consider calling for the expulsion of the so-called â??rebel tenâ? from the Scottish Football League.

The meeting marks a hardening of attitudes towards the ten who, as things stand, would make up next seasonâ??s First Division â?? Alloa Athletic, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Dundee, Falkirk, Morton, Hamilton Academical, Livingston, Queen of the South and Raith Rovers.

The ten want to break away from the SFL and join the Scottish Premier League so they can avail themselves of the extra cash promised by the SPL in the proposed revamp of the game which is in danger of being voted down by Second and Third Division clubs.

Just 16 of the 29 SFL clubs eligible to vote on change showed their support for the move in an indicative ballot last Thursday. Twenty-two clubs are required to back the plans when a formal vote is held on 10 June.

Rangers are not entitled to vote because they are only associate members but they will be invited to Tuesdayâ??s meeting and could yet play a key role thanks to their earning potential in terms of TV money.

The Second and Third Division clubs hope that the threat to expel the rebel ten will leave them in limbo if their plans to join the SPL fail.

The ten will hold their own meeting tomorrow with SFL chief executive Neil Doncaster, where they will outline their concerns.

â?¢ Neymar trained with his Santos team-mates yesterday in what was likely his last practice session at the Brazilian club before making his much-anticipated move to European football with either Barcelona or Real Madrid.

A day after Santos said they had accepted offers from Barcelona and Real Madrid, Neymar trained ahead of his teamâ??s match in the Brazilian league. The game against Flamengo today will probably be his last with Santos.

The 21-year-old striker said he would â??look at both offers very carefullyâ? before making a decision. Neymar will probably join his new club after playing for Brazil in the Confederations Cup.

Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues has hinted that Neymar, pictured left, already had a â??gentlemanâ??s agreementâ? with Barcelona, which is the team the player has always said he wanted to play for.

Brazilian media reported that Real Madrid was willing to pay Santos ¤35 million (£30m) for Neymar, ¤7m more than Barcelona.

â?¢ Dundee striker John Baird has agreed a move to Partick Thistle.

Elgin City chief Graham Tatters has branded the spl arrogant and insists he could not support league construction plans. The highland outfit were among the 13 SFL clubs that said no to reconstruction at a Hampden summit.

Tatters said, what the SPL has proposed is really just a takeover. The new orginisation would be run by them, the hierarchy, the voting structure.

It's really infuriating that we are told this is it,take it or leave it,it'll never happen again. How can you enter into negotiations like that?.In negotiations you always end up in an area of compromise if not then people's backs get up and you end up arguing minor points.People have got peeved off,It's never been a merger.

It's the arrogance that really grates on me to think they are just talking down to us all the time, there is no equality.

It's just we'll tell you what we'll do because we have all the votes,we'll have the financial clout and you'll do as your told.

We'll i'm sorry all that does is put peoples backs up if the SFL 1 clubs go they go.The grass isn't always greener on the other side

.

But before these people start thinking about what the SPL are going to give them they should be asking where the money is going to come from because they don't have a sponsor just now and who would want to sponsor what's going on at the moment it's a mess

We will deal with it,we've got a lovely football club. It's well supported,we've got a good set up.If the money dries up then we will cut our cloth accordingly.

If the SFL1 clubs break away & join the SPL then Longmuir must demand that the SFL get a much bigger share of the SKY money

Disagree totally. They should make their own deal with Sky. The SPL 1\2 have broken away and broken the rules. Lets fight it out now.

The interview with Elgin's Tatters is one of the few to spell things out and raise the important questions. Alas if was buried away in a brief appearance in the online Daily Star.

Expelling them from SFL would only play into their hands and give them a reason to join the SPL. The SFA should be coming in and sorting this out by making them adhere to the rules or ban them from football for a full season or some other punishment. At the end of the day it is still the same poor league sizes.

Yes, they should. However, Septic's control over the Scottish game, started under Reid's calculating reign, began by first undermining and then taking over the ruling bodies.
