Should the Rangers manager's salary be performance related ?

Recommended Posts

In my opinion(if true) Ally is getting £750k p.a.

Once we return to the top division however should the manager's salary be performance related ? for example

BASIC: £400K

LEAGUE WINNERS: £300K bonus

SCOTTISH CUP : £200K bonus

LEAGUE CUP : £100K bonus

IN EUROPE

AFTER XMAS : £200K bonus

If we won the treble & we were still in Europe beyond new year he'd get £1.2m p.a.

His coaching staff would be paid this way too.

Anyone think this a better way than simply paying £750k p.a - £1m p.a regardless of how successful the team is?

Well for the 2nd division the manager should be on what most other managers in the 2nd division get...bonus should be based on what winning the 2nd division is worth. (that includes the coaching staff)

The money we'd save would put us on the right rails for winning the top league at our first attempt on return.

No wonder Ally doesn't do walking away  (as long as the pay is good)

Whyte was a crook...how Super Ally can take £750,000 a year out of Rangers is not right. Bloody criminal imo

Pretty sure Ally worked without a wage for a while.

Also Ally is putting himself at risk, any manager who fails to get Rangers out of Div 3, 2 and 1 at the first attempt wouldnt deserve another job in football.

Im expecting a lot more this season. A full pre-season and 6 or 7 new players means no excuses.

With no disrespect to any poster on here or telling you what to do with your time, "normal" people should not try to minute-analyze the club's finances/wage structuire/spending on this or that and offer "better solutions". We can talk on here all day and it will change not an iota of what the club/CEO/chairman does with the money. If the same amount of life energy would be spend on uniting the support or attempt to get a seat on the board of directors, it would be spend "more wisely" and might have in yrears to come an actual effect on how the money is spend.

There's been too many people paid too much money who haven't delivered in recent years. Performance related pay would stop that

Disagree, clubs seem to be more and more listening to or reading what the fans are saying. Now that the TV money has been slashed the fans are the biggest income to the club again. Plus the fact forums are for discussion and debate and many good and bad idea's flow from that.

In an alternate reality where the fans can govern the wage structure of the club I'd vote for giving the manager the same basic salary as the CEO with the capacity to almost double it based on performance.

Ally's NOT here for the money. People should be mindful of the fact that he took a huge wage cut to return here.
