Reading between the lines of a few things that have happened in the last week or so...

1) Mike Ashley rumoured to be interested in increasing his stake

2) Ahmad seemingly talking to Bill McMurdo who is then blogging about Mather's salary and the lack of cost reduction

3) Further rumours about CG wanting to return

4) Other rumours about potential interested parties looking at acquring shares...

Seems to me that key investors have parachuted Green in to make sure their interests are assured - i.e. to make the maximise the value of their shares if and when someone makes a bid.

Just my amateur and uninformed view though.

One of the other recent developments was Walter stating that he did not have the business acumen to take the Chairman's position on a long term basis. Was this preparing the way for CG to take on this role if/when Walter stands down?

No but it'll be a fair bit less than what he was on as CEO I imagine, and I doubt it'll make a huge different either way to the finances.

It is irrelevant what he got as CEO. What is relevant is what he brings to the table in this role.... And there is nothing to suggest he has the skills required.

Given our still parlous state financially..... Every penny should still count.

I really don't get this blasé approach to our finances.... Have we forgotten where we were 16 months ago ???

How practical was it for him to publically reveal how they'd screwed over Whyte?

If he had nothing to hide he shouldn't have hidden it. The fans would have probably supported it anyway given the animosity toward Whyte.

I admit I am being somewhat simplistic though

I haven't got a blasé approach, but if people are complaining about Green yet think that there's little wrong with our football costs then i'd suggest it's more the individual rather than the money they're concerned about.

Not necessarily saying that's you craig.

The Craig Whyte stuff was part of him purchasing the club about a year before, not much Green could do about Whyte recording his conversations. That was the main ammunition.

You may want to start wearing fire retardant clothing because one day you'll self combust.

I think you are mistaken.

The squad may be 30 but how many of those are really youths ? As can be seen the club won't sign Pandza because it is put with the budget. We also must act like the SPL club we truly are. Or you prescribe to clear outs each year till we get to the SPL ?

However... Why do we need Green for shareholder relations and capital structure ? Stockbridge with his background should be able to do the latter and, as BD says, he former isn't a difficult role to fulfill.
