the gunslinger 3,366
turnover is a largely irrelevant figure in business. its pointless if you aren't profitable. whats better a turnover of 5 million and profit of 3 or a turnover of 50 billion and loss of 2 million. celtc own their own hops so their merchandising turnover was 15 million ish our was 5 million pure profit. you cant compare turnovers.
the gunslinger 3,366
it all boils down to this. this board have 13 months to put a team capable of winning the spl league on the park. our last team to do so was. mcgregor papac weir bougherra whittaker davis naismith edu wylde lafferty jelavic. we are 10 players away from that level right now and a long way off walter smith level of management. just like i know ally isnt the desired quality to do the job required i know the same of this board. if others want to wait and see what the deliver so be it but if its not a league win the fans wont wear it.
Super Cooper 0
From memory, in addition to the larger stadium, Celtic reflected the whole of their retail turnover in their figures whereas we only showed the new profit from the JJB deal. They made a lot more turnover but we probably made more profit. Turnover isn't necessarily that relevant. £15m per annum in merchandising on their accounts. We got £3m clear profit from JJB. Would it really cost £12m to run their club shops? They don't have that many. When was the last time we posted a profit? How many years in the last 20? 1 maybe en route to Manchester and even then our debt went up did it not?

If the board back the manager as they have done impressively over the last 2 years it won't be them who are targeted when we fail, it will quite rightly be the manager.

Comparing both clubs finances is unfair in that they have such a large advantage over us. We cannot be expected to carry a similar wage bill of similar quality player. That is just unrealistic.

Super Cooper 0
of course we can we have in the past no problem. indeed we must. And look where it got us. A near decade of downsizing and banks taking over. If we can't we can't. We can only pee with the cock we have and it ain't as big as Celtics sadly.
