Summer 2015 - Transfers and Rumours Thread

Although another former player may be back on trial this week - Rhys McCabe.

At St Johnstone though... ;)

I'd take McCabe back too..... Better player than to be going to St Johnstone.

Rangers target Spurs duo: Mark Warburton to hold talks with Tottenham over loan moves for Winks and Fredericks

06:48, 9 July 2015 By Keith Jackson

GERS take on Spurs in a closed-doors friendly on Friday and Warburton is keen on taking Harry Winks and Ryan Fredericks to Ibrox.

MARK WARBURTON will hold talks with Spurs this weekend about possible loan deals for a number of the Premier League club’s top youngsters.

Record Sport revealed last month the Rangers boss is keen on landing highly-rated England youth star Harry Winks from White Hart Lane on a season-long loan deal.

And now full-back Ryan Fredericks – previously farmed out to Warburton at Brentford – is also on a list of possible Ibrox targets.

Warburton has made the most of his established working relationships with Tottenham to set up a closed-door bounce game for his new-look Rangers side at the club’s training HQ in Chigwell tomorrow.

He will remain down south to watch a young Spurs side take on Southend on Saturday and then discuss what players might be made available.

More news from Ibrox

Warburton grew up a Spurs fan and is close to the club’s key decision-makers, including manager Mauricio Pochettino. He convinced them to let Alex Pritchard join Brentford on loan last term and the midfield starlet went on to win a place in the England side at the Euro Under-21 Championships.

It was also said that Winks will/may train with us this week and will actually play for us on Friday. And unless I am mistaken, we'll actually take on Spurs' u23s rather than the first team?

Rangers manager Mark Warburton targets Andy Halliday as fourth summer signing

Andy Halliday impressed during closed-door friendly with Tottenham

Rangers boss Mark Warburton hoping to add him to squad at Ibrox

Wes Foderingham, Danny Wilson and Rob Kiernan already arrived

Rangers boss Mark Warburton wants to make Andy Halliday his fourth signing of the summer after the midfielder impressed in a closed-door match against Tottenham.

The former Middlesbrough and Bradford City midfielder played an hour in Friday’s challenge match at Spurs’ training ground in London and is now set for talks with the club over a contract.

The 23-year-old left Scottish football when he moved from Livingston to Boro in 2010 but was formerly in the youth ranks at the Ibrox club and is eager to re-sign for the club he supported as a boy.

Fellow trialist Reece Wabara also remains under consideration but the former Doncaster Rovers right back has not yet been offered a deal by Rangers.

Former Brentford manager Warburton has thus far signed goalkeeper Wes Foderingham in addition to defenders Danny Wilson and Rob Kiernan.

Rangers set for talks with former Livingston starlet Andy Halliday

THE former Livingston, Middlesbrough and Bradford winger has been training at Murray Park for the last couple of weeks and impressed enough to earn a contract offer.

RANGERS are set to begin contract talks with Andy Halliday as Mark Warburton looks to make him the Ibrox club’s latest signing.

The former
Middlesbrough and Livingston midfielder has spent two weeks training at Murray Park and has impressed the new boss and
assistant Davie Weir.

Halliday featured in Gers’ 3-2 closed doors defeat to Spurs on Friday and Warburton believes he’s done enough to earn a deal.

The 23-year-old is keen to join his boyhood club and MailSport understands that negotiations between Rangers and the player’s representatives will take place this week.

Meanwhile, it’s understood that Warburton has decided NOT to pursue the signing of ex-Man City
full-back Reece Wabara.

But the Ibrox gaffer is still in
discussions with Spurs about potential loan deals for Ryan
Fredericks and Harry Winks.
