You can delete one of them yourself mate.

Double posts can easily be avoided if you 'do nothing' after you post (ignore the prompts)

Has anyone seen confirmation from any major MSM outlet that these two have actually had their privileges denied? Nothing on the club website either.

You're smart enough to know the tweet from Chris Graham was the de facto official announcement whether or not you agree with the delivery method.

The BBC has decided to boycott Rangers’ home games after one of its journalists was banned from Ibrox stadium.

Chris McLaughlin, a sports reporter, has been told that he is “no longer welcome” at the stadium. Senior Rangers figures are understood to be unhappy with some of Mr McLaughlin’s coverage of recent matches involving the club.

In a response to the ban, the BBC will not send any of its staff to Ibrox while Mr McLaughlin’s ban remains in place.

Graham Spiers, one of Scotland’s most high-profile sports journalists and a regular contributor to The Times, has also been banned for criticising the club.

A spokesman for the BBC said the ban was “unjustifiable”. He added: “We are disappointed that Rangers have decided to ban our reporter Chris McLaughlin from Ibrox. We defend our journalists’ right to report on the club. While the ban is in operation we will not be sending any other staff to Ibrox to cover any activities at the club.”

Mr Spiers said that he had been critical of Rangers’ management but defended his coverage, saying: “Banning me is like something from the old Soviet system. It’s absurd, totally unnecessary and will be ineffective.”

A spokesman for Rangers Football Club said that both journalists had been told that they were “no longer welcome at Ibrox”.

He said: “All Rangers are asking for is fair reporting of their affairs. It’s entirely up to Chris [McLaughlin] and Graham Spiers what they want to make of this. The remedy lies with them. Rangers is not attempting to restrict press freedom. Every single media outlet is welcome at Ibrox at any time.”

In relation to the BBC’s decision not to send any staff to Ibrox, the spokesman said: “Rangers is extremely disappointed that the BBC has taken this stance. The BBC is more than welcome to come to Ibrox, but the BBC has chosen to close the door on Rangers.”

The spokesman claimed: “The [bBC’s] reporting of Rangers’ 6-2 win against what most people would describe as our biggest rivals in the Championship, Hibernian, was skewed. The police report commends the [Rangers] fans and Hibs fans for their behaviour, but that reporter chooses to take a different line, where you have two fans arrested because it is claimed they were singing songs that are deemed unacceptable out of five or six thousand Rangers fans.”

On the specific allegations made by Rangers, a BBC spokesman said: “We stand by the professionalism of our journalism and the accuracy of our reporting.”

In February, Daily Record reporters were told they were no longer welcome at the club after critical coverage.
