Relations between the two clubs have grown increasingly strained in the aftermath of the vandalism to a toilet block at Celtic Park in September by visiting fans. Celtic have withheld £35,000 of ticket money owed to Rangers to cover the cost of their rivals’ wrecking spree at Parkhead. Now the Light Blues are set to follow their lead and force Celtic to pay the cost of vandalism in the Broomloan Stand at the Old Firm clash on Hogmanay. Relations between the two clubs have grown increasingly strained in the aftermath of the vandalism to a toilet block at Celtic Park in September by visiting fans. It’s understood a dispute over the total cost of the damage, which saw sinks, toilets and part of the ceiling destroyed, has led to the bill remaining outstanding for the last four months. Celtic have run out of patience and taken matters into their own hands after they banked around £375,000 from their fans for tickets to the recent game at Ibrox.They have decided to withhold the sum they claim was due for repairs and have sent the balance to Ibrox. In a tit-for-tat response, Rangers are ready to withhold the money they say will be payable for damage caused to their ground by Celtic supporters following the recent meeting between the clubs. Rangers will be given approximately 8,000 tickets to distribute to their fans for the next league meeting between the clubs, at Parkhead in March, and will send the balance minus their repair bill back across the city. A Celtic spokesman said: “As far as we are concerned the matter regarding payment for the significant damage caused to Celtic Park has been resolved. “We have not been informed of any major damage whatsoever caused at Ibrox stadium.” Celtic fans posted images of supporters lighting scented candles in the toilets at Ibrox during their side’s recent 2-1 victory, but Rangers maintain there was also significant vandalism in the Broomloan Stand. Such an agreement cannot exist between gentlemen and guttersnipe. Rasellik, as it demonstrates, frequently, is a guttersnipe club, run and managed by guttersnipe, for guttersnipe, unsurprisingly lauded by guttersnipe in the guttersnipe media.
