Knights of the realm

Recommended Posts

We all know the anti-royalist celtic fc have celebrity fans who were only too happy to bend the knee to Her Majesty and accept a knighthood - Sir Billy, Sir Rod and Sir Jimmy to name but 3. My old man is asking about Rangers fans who received the honour, but I'm struggling to come up with names. Can anybody think of any? And David Murray doesn't count..

Was Sean Connery not considered a Ranger's supporter. Although I think there was some doubt about that.

He's a Jambo. But is/was fri nds with SDM so was often seen at Ibrox

He's never been a Hearts fan. He was a Celtic fan, but wee Fergus refused him free tickets and SDM invited him to the game as a guest of Rangers and was frequently seen at Rangers games for a few years after that.

I've never been convinced that he was that big a fan of ours though.

Sir Alex Ferguson played for us of course and it's been said he is a supporter, no idea if that's true.

Well considering he recently spoke at the nauseating Lisbon (well, about 40 miles away) Lions event he can be struck off the list.
