You do wonder though, whether the Scottish League Cup rules actually say anything about such events. It is all fine and well what the SFA Cup or UEFA rulebooks say, the Scottish League Cup is under the stewardship of the SPFL and they have to handle it. From the looks of it, there is nothing and hence we get such a ridiculous ruling and will probably get a different one in the next instance.
