So Hertz get a slap on the wrist for fielding an ineligible player - a new precedent set?

One of the smaller teams got thrown out for the same thing? I’m sure Spartans an Dunfermline have previously been thrown out.

Dunfermline were guilty of various rule breaches.

Spartans were guilty of a second offence within 3 years.

".........Dunfermline's expulsion came partly as the result of fielding Calum Woods, who came off the bench in the second half of the 7-1 win at East End Park, despite the SFA's official suspensions list declaring him banned for the match.

However, it emerged on Thursday that the Irn-Bru First Division club were guilty of further rule breaches, including submitting an inaccurate team line, altering a named substitute and not registering two outfield under-21 players.........."

And they decry the dissenters who accuse them of 'corruption' eh Coop?

The Boys In Maroon even had eight grand of their ten grand fine deferred until sometime next year!

It'd be laughable if it wasn't so serious.

IMHO, 3-0 Cove, no points Hearts, and perhaps a fine.

You do wonder though, whether the Scottish League Cup rules actually say anything about such events. It is all fine and well what the SFA Cup or UEFA rulebooks say, the Scottish League Cup is under the stewardship of the SPFL and they have to handle it. From the looks of it, there is nothing and hence we get such a ridiculous ruling and will probably get a different one in the next instance. That said, it is Cove Rangers' who have to inquire or protest here.
