One concern is the left-back role for Thursday, as AFAIK Flanagan will be suspended. So we might give Hodson or Halliday a run out today ... at some point.

 

IMHO, we should go 3-5-2 with Katic, Goldson and Flanagan as the defenders, and only Coulibaly as a DM. Flanks can be worked by Tav and Borna, Sadiq and Morelos up front. Remaining two midfielders can be picked from Kent, Ejaria, Arfield, Murphy, Candeias and Middleton ... again with an eye on Thursday, as we will probably need the industry and graft of Candeias and Kent.

 

Somehow, I have the feeling that we do have a 75%-game clause in Ejaria's and Kent's contracts and thus use them early in the season ...

NB ... today will be back to "bread & butter". Thus far, we only had "big games", be it in Europe or away in Sheepland. Saints will come here rather motivated as the promoted team out to make their mark, but well aware how to play against us. Probably polar-different to what we had thus far ... and very akin - opposition-wise - to what we saw at Ibrox last season with all the "lesser" sides.

Well the Saint Mirren fans seem to think they're going to have a go and I hope they do because that's exactly what would get them slaughtered but I doubt Stubbs is as stupid as they are. An example post from their forum.
