Europa money

Recommended Posts

Whatever the exact number, it's a relatively substantial sum of money which is very welcome.

It wouldn't have been budgeted for but I suspect it'll actually be very much needed and won't prevent a net loss next year (barring a substantial incoming transfer fee).

Rangers in Europe, money made: approx. £4,600,000 from qualification, approx. £8,735,000 million from groups (including ticket prices/gates) plus adverts, tv and so on: approximately 14 million through the Europa League campaign

Huge boost, but the associated expenditure will obviously take a chunk out of that.

Ultimately it's money that we won't have planned for so every extra penny is important.

Hopefully it will allow us some flexibility player wise over the next month but we really need to get rid of the dead wood (e.g. Pena, Herrera, Dodoo, Holt etc) that aren't going to feature again.

When you see the losses we are still (somehow) making it’s clear just how important this cash influx was.

The challenge going forward is to successfully negotiate summer qualifying to get access to group stages.

We could have a better squad but simply get an unlucky draw.
