I'd argue that he's too similar to Arfield in that respect. We would have 2 that don't have great pace. Having Kent and Arfield gives a good contrast.

I guess there may be games where it may work, if the opposition is playing a 10 man defence, but a bit of pace is always helpful.

I know what you mean but it's hard to know. The passing game the team have played cuts teams open without the conventional beating men down the channels. In 6 games we scored 14, Arfield was involved (goals+assists) in 5, Defoe in 6 and Kent in none. I prefer the idea of Murphy there and Dorrans maybe behind but I think Dorrans has the skillset to be very effective there too. He only needed a few minutes at Villareal to show us the creative quality we've missed without him.

I see Dorrans competing with Davis for the same role; the deeper, central player in the midfield three, with the freedom to move. The energy of Kamara and Jack have complemented Davis very well.

They're both getting on a bit, so utilising both could work.

First and foremost it's about Dorrans staying fit, getting match fit and avoiding injuries/ seeing how knee holds up.

Those are significant hurdles and unfortunately, I can't see him playing a regular part or getting back to full match sharpness.

I could see Rossiter being the one to compete with Davis if we decided to keep him.

Somebody from the club must have made a faux pas.... I read it on their Twitter yesterday and seems it has been taken down.....

EDIT : I see it was a fake account - sorry folks.... wasn't paying attention as I have a lot of "stuff" going on right now.
