You want 100 % from our guys and despite their enthusiasm, we look sluggish and tiresome in nigh all departments. Desperate stuff at times. Essentially a carbon copy of our game at the Scumhut with reversed roles. You can just hope that it will be a game of 2 halves. 

 

Aribo almost anonymous and slag in speed and passes, Kent not in there at all. Might replace him straigh away with Itten.

A very poor first half.

 

Celtic actually playing us at our own game and look like they have a man extra at times as they harry us at all times and we continually give the ball away.  Thankfully, after a dodgy first 5-10mins, we have looked a bit better organised defensively but have to be happy by still being level at half-time although Morelos was unlucky with one blocked effort.

 

We're trying to play this like a European game which is fine in principle but if you don't look after the ball on the counter then you're asking for trouble.  Far too many players, in fact almost all, are guilty of giving it away and struggling with any sort of physical presence.

 

I wouldn't change the XI right away but I would look to move out of the low/medium block for sure.

Should have been booked on his 4th foul but Madden bottled it and, indeed despite warning him, didn't even book him after his 5th foul before eventually even Madden couldn't shirk out of the caution after a late tackle on Barisic.

If you lose this game and you turn around a say that you left everything out there on the pitch, at least you can hold your hands up. I don't think we've come close to leaving everything out there on the pitch. At all

Game absolutely passing Aribo by and Kent can't seem to make a 5 yard square pass. 

Only positive is the score. I'd put Zungu in. We need someone to put tackles in.

That's... not good. 

 

We're outnumbered in midfield, so we're forced to drop off. Even then, we're not compact enough. 

 

It's not the end of the world sitting off them, but we need to be compact. 

 

And then, we need an option to attack. 

 

I'm not convinced Hagi is the option -- maybe later on. 

 

I would actually prefer more pace, like a Barker, with Roofe up front. (Ideally, Aribo would play further forward, but I'm not sure who I'd trust in the deeper position without Arfield and Jack.)
