I noticed Kenny Miller saying if you're going to play this way you need defenders who go and attack the ball - do you not need that anyway!? Frankie 8,150 Posted September 8, 2022 Share Posted September 8, 2022 I don't think we're brilliant at defensive (or offensive) set-pieces and the change to zonal marking just seems to have made things worse. Goldson is supposedly the spare man so he can attack the ball but as long as opposition put in enough bodies then it becomes difficult, especially when Sands seems to have no idea what he's supposed to be doing. He got lucky against PSV but was to blame last night for the opening goal. Then there were the examples of where we were marking empty zones in the six yard area whilst all he PSV men were more towards the penalty spot leaving them all wide open.
