I'm not having a go at the kid, only 18 and being played out of position isn't easy, and coming into a team bereft of confidence is not an ideal set of circumstances, but I really dont see anything in Devine that is worthy of the praise I have seen here and elsewhere. Been caught out several times, final ball pretty poor, he is certainly no Nathan Patterson who you could tell was special from first sight. Got lots of time on his side but I am hopeful Borna is back soon, and Devine can continue to learn his trade under a bit less pressure.

 

As for MOTM, gone for Lundstrum just for the goal as the rest of the match was poke-your-eyes-out-garbage.

 

Happy to take the 3 points and move on. 2 massive home games to come now, there has to be improvement or its going to be ugly.

Connor Goldson for me. Steadied the entire defence, some great long passes, got forward when he could. Showed real drive and is captain in all but name. Thank God he’s back.

Each to his own and all that (and what do I know anyway) but I'm a bit stunned no one else has voted for Connor Goldson. I really thought he was the difference between winning and dropping more points last night.
