The player Dessers is replacing is 27, hardly a massive reduction in average age

Fans will rightly say we've lost goals in Tillman and Morelos but generally they weren't that involved towards the back end of the season and we were still comfortably scoring (although we're leaving chances out there).

 

I'm more worried about the Left Centre Back signing, we need to cut out a third to a half of last seasons goals conceded rather than try and score 100+. If we do concede a lot less we'll be on for the title imo, just because we'll always make chances especially within Beale's system. OF games being a case in point.

Come on Rousseau.  If a manager doesnt like him you think it would work for a DoF to force him upon the manager and make him work with him ?  Manager simply doesnt select him.

 

Colak is more clinical than Morelos but doesnt play to the MB style.

 

So we should really just have the recruitment based on what us fans say instead of the manager 🤷‍♂️

You conveniently omitted Jack, Barisic, McLaughlin, Roofe, etc., and Lundstram is 29. I did say 'aging squad'.

 

Even taking your starting XI, that's 6 players that we're recouping nothing on. 

 

Dessers is not old per se, but it's not good business to spend £3-4M plus on a 28 year-old that we can't resell.

I just wrote a long reply then exited the page by mistake...

 

Suffice to say, we must have a more joint-up approach. Players and managers must suit a club's philosophy. It's no good catering to the whims of individual managers.
