Hearts away ticket allocation cut

Recommended Posts

Record Sport understands the Jambos are slashing the number of travelling fans inside their Gorgie ground due to bumper season ticket sales and the demand from walk up punters for home tickets. It means 10 of the 11 clubs visiting the capital next season will be given just one section of the Roseburn stand for Premiership fixtures.

A gentleman’s agreement with the Hibees means Hearts’ neighbours will be exempt from the new policy regarding away briefs. They will continue to get all 3,600 seats behind the goals, which ensures Hearts in return will still receive the entire South Stand at Easter Road when they travel across town on derby day. But the remaining top flight fan bases face a ticket scramble when taking on Steven Naismith’s side this season, Celtic and Rangers in particular

Time for the Hearts to start punching their weight. Imagine finishing the league behind the Darvel Duffers.

Lots of the younger fans think Ibrox was always heaving yet not that long back we played regularly to 17000 crowds sometimes as low as12000 and that’s when we were collecting trebles for me the best atmosphere back then was at away games were our fans boosted crowds maybe some of the statisticians on here could look back at the crowds of say 77/78 season

It sounds like there's about 100 people at our home matches these days (unless it's a European tie or a derby against that lot).

Amen to that. I remember being one of 4500 souls watching us lose 3-4 at home to Dunfermline. Mind you, it was just days before Barcelona.

11,000 in a midweek game at Ibrox against Dundee Utd in 75/76 season.
