No Ian, as much as I want that to be true, I thought our fullbacks were the weakest link in defence again.

You can’t say we defended well without including the whole defence. Both our fullbacks played well otherwise we wouldn’t have got a decent result. I stand by that. I thought prematch both of our fullbacks would have got ripped up for arse paper, they never!.

The more I read and listen to about Rangers this season, it seems some fans are expecting us to play the perfect game of football every time we enter the pitch.

A lot of fans have been quick to crucify Beale about his failings this season but I've not seen many lining up to give him praise for the way played last night and how we used our subs.

Not really relevent to this topic, but it was good to see Tom Lawrence played an hour for B Team today and scored in a 4-2 win over Hamilton. Think he is still a few weeks away from 1st team action.

Well, you cannae wear a jaiket wi’ a jerkin but apart from that, he’s impressive.

On the subject of impressive, I assume the foreign journos were Dutch. Can you imagine oor boys from PQ and the Record doing that next week in Dutch? Me neither. In fact, if they could do it in English it would be a step up.

On the manager front, was it just me or did anyone else think MB a bit more animated than usual last night?

Notice none of the dutch journos asked about Cantwell being sent off, but that walloper from Sky couldn't wait to ask about it..

To be fair, I was convinced looking down from the club deck that it was a second yellow.  I was very relieved when the ref decided to have a word instead, but I think a high proportion of UEFA refs would have carded him without a moment's thought.

Could have been, absolutely. Just found it interesting the Dutch journos have said nothing, the manager dismissed it and none of their players have complained. Compare that to the usual reaction to something similar domestically and it becomes headline news for a fortnight.
