Butland to Birmingham City

I've felt for a long time that the dressing room suffers from a malign influence and suspect the removal of a couple of individuals could go a long way to solving the problem.

We shouldn't underestimate the gap that Gerrard left either. He was a hero to the players; a leader capable of inspiring the dressing room and instilling team spirit.

He always seemed able to get the players to give a bit extra.

Not when you know where the story is coming from sadly.

Is this some kind of game of tease?

Either say what you know or don't mention it at all.

Beale sold him a dummy. His exact words were "it's not all it's cracked up to be". Listen, it is what it is. It's not like he's been the second coming of Goram or McGregor. He's averaging conceding a goal a game right now as well. He's been the best of a very bad bunch this season. Rooney is an old pal. Birmingham need a keeper. They are in a new exciting era. He's an England international. He's exactly the profile Rooney wants to attract to the club. There's no point in us denying it. And certainly no point getting upset about it or someone saying it how it is. If it happens it happens. We move on. We've lost far better players than Jack Butland in the past and went on to win many trophies. I don't agree he's miles better than RM, RM is a terrific keeper.

If that’s true get him out asap

It would be a strange move selling the one player who’s shown consistency since the beginning of the season .

It would also seem strange that the new manager would have accepted the job knowing that the club intends to sell their best player.
