Ian McMillan passes away

Recommended Posts

Rest easy Wee Prime Minister - another legend of our club who was the oldest living Ranger / Scotland International until his passing.

Thoughts, condolences and prayers with his family at this sad time.

They called him the Wee Prime Minister - primus inter pares, I am told. That says something, a lot, actually, when he was taking the field with likes of Baxter, Henderson, Miller, Brand, and Wilson.

Nowadays, sadly, to call him that, or similar, would be to demean the man.

A Rangers' Great. RIP.

An absolute great for the Airdrieonians, the Rangers and the Airdrieonians again.

The best passer of the ball I ever saw and that includes di Stefano, Blanchflower, Haynes and White. Never a more thrilling sight at Ibrox than Ian McMillan clawing the ball down from the air, pivoting and rifling a pass between defenders for Alex Scott to race onto, all in one movement.
