CammyF 9,453
Well we're about to find out. Soon all the guesswork and "fakeover" can be put to bed and hopefully we can enter the next glorious chaper of our rich history. "Status Quo" wasn't an option, the current board admitted we needed fresh investment/investors to move the club forward. Strap yourselves in........

Have you heard something specific, or is this just a general opinion on the takeover?

From what I've heard the takeover will be completed in the next couple of weeks barring any last minute hitches. It should be an exciting time - new major shareholders, new manager, new season. I may live to regret saying this, but this is the most excited I've been going into a new season for years. As I said, let's strap ourselves in and see what happens.

All here the other day for their tour and official pictures, interviews etc ready to be put out when it all gets announced. Any day now could be announced I reckon, end of April, beginning of May been on cards for a while. Though they might save it til after final game of the season.

Had heard the official announcement was going to be day before Cup Final but it may be sooner.
Gribz 1,290
No harm to make the announcement on the Eve of a Rangers v Celtic match 😎

Very broadly, Ashley at Newcastle didn't look to fatten them up by investing much money. He extracted value and money whilst they performed on pitch at a poor to middling level. Fans didn't like it, he didn't care. He eventually made a big profit on his initial investment because of the increased demand for EPL clubs from extremely wealthy people/groups. The latter point could be replicated with us dependent on how European football evolves alongside associated revenue streams. All that said, at this stage everything is merely speculation. lenny3k 808
The timing of the announcement may depend on Sunday's result.....

Do you think that the 49ers, et al. will make a big profit from a poor to middling team, because of an increased demand for ownership of that team?
