Was it the same one who said it was Gerrard the middle of last week?

CammyF 9,547 Posted Friday at 20:41 Share Posted Friday at 20:41 (edited) Gerrard was interviewed for the role but ruled himself out over the last few days. Couple of reasons doing the rounds are a deal with a TV company and the fact his wife and family ruled out moving to Scotland with him (again). He had support within the club and was seen as the "safe" appointment as he knows the club, knows the league, knows what's expected and off course was "successful" here previously. Yes, I've read something similar, TNT sports supposedly. Plus his daughter is pregnant and wants to stay put plus the whole Mrs drama will always be nagging him for more time etc especially when he becomes a Grandpa, we need someone who is solely committed to the job at hand for however many seasons in charge.

My first choice has been Knutsen for the past 3 appointments but looks like he’ll stay where he is. Ancelotti is a gamble but a very interesting one. The fact is, anyone is a gamble. Clement had a track record of winning leagues and didn’t work out. Muscat is a good option too.

I think Priske and Fagioli look like better options than Ancelotti - and maybe Martin - but I'm not sure how likely they are.

I'll be gutted if we appoint him.

I can’t see the attraction to any of the hipsters who insist on playing out from the goalkeeper to beat the press. Most of our games we don’t get pressed. Teams will watch us play it about the back for 90 mins and be delighted with a point.
