[FT] Rangers 1 (Dessers 44') - 1 Celtic

Recommended Posts

The very thought of the Rangers players clapping, or being forced to do the right thing, must be demoralising to say the least, not only for the players regarding their own performances this season, but also questioning why it’s seen as the right thing to do, bearing in mind it’s a one-way competition where the winner takes all. Sure, let them have their chance to prove they are champions of the league; we have beaten them twice already, let’s do it a third time and make them question their own abilities and ask if they really have the mentality to replicate it next year. One thing's for sure, I’m sure we are going to come out swinging from all angles as soon as this announcement is made, hopefully pretty soon so we can get the ball rolling. I’m sure Chelsea are planning to do it when playing Liverpool; their head coach has confirmed. Talk about psychological warfare, I think it’s time we raise those coat hangers another few inches in the away dressing room.

“ there is no substance to class”

“Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers.”

Rangers 11/4

Considering our recent home record its quite short but I do think its worth a few bucks and will come up.

As for guard of honour - it cant even be in the conversation. Imagine the fans in Argentina if River Plate gave Boca Juniors one!

The same application is needed from the players as the previous few matches against them. Hagi and Cerny have to be brought back into the starting line up and Id go 4 at the back as we have been playing better when switching to this (Aberdeen away, Bilbao second half....)

I’ll do a small scorecast one nil and Dessers for the goal this might be his last old firm game

  • Rousseau changed the title to You're the manager!

Id bring Butland back in.

Centre half is tricky as I do like Nsiala. And how will Balogun be with missing a few games and playing with a mask. Jefte is good going forward as a wing back but id rather another more offensive player so would start with a back 4.

So its between Cortes on the left with Hagi in the middle or Igamane playing behind Dessers and giving Hagi a slightly more wider role (which he is more then capable of) and I'll go with the latter.

Butland

Tavernier Souttar Nsiala Jefte

Raskin Diomande

Cerny Igamane Hagi

Dessers

Last time I gave this fixture a wide berth, we won and I had the pleasure of watching the old and (by now new) German ice-hockey champions in action. No ice-hockey any more, as the season is over now. Still, no interest in seeing this incarnation of a Rangers team against the - for various unsavoury reasons - "dominant" force in Scottish football. There's a neat German saying for a very unexpected outcome: "I've seen horses vomit in front of the pharmacy!", yet, if we show up like we did of late, and they play at 75 % of their capabilities ...

There's a point where a team and combined management over the season has used up all the considerable credit one can give them.

I still hope that those who venture there and those who watch it have a great day.

I don't think it was meant to become decades instead of years.

Tolerance has been in very short supply.
