Three out of four makes it perfectly valid. But by all means change orange to loyalist, royalist, Tory, anything you like and we would have been rightly complaining.

We would be complaining but that's what rivalry is about. Should we only have banners that don't upset Celtic fans?

There's a difference between banners that annoy and those that are truly offensive.

Their ones that I've found offensive have been bigoted or supporting a terrorist organisation.

The one today wasn't either of these, and that's why the statement couldn't identify what the issue with the banner was.

It now seems we have to take our standards from them. No PWE, no restraints on what we do as long as they do the same.

This hand wringing and trying to equate our banner with their pro-IRA and sectarian banners will have the Celtic fans laughing behind their faux expressions of outrage.

There is an element of the UBs' behaviour that is as bad as theirs but that's more to do with the "ultra" standards, and our songbook had me shaking my head but I really don't see much wrong with the banner, if that's what you're referring to.

Up a wee narrow close, just by Brigton Cross...probably my favourite song when we play them.

As for the banner, the only thing wrong was it should have said paedo instead of 'rebel'.  They're not rebels any more, they're the establishment in modern Scotland, sadly.

Yes. They think of themselves as 'rebels', which, really, they are not. They don't think of themselves as  paedophiles, which, really, they are.

(They practice child abuse, directly, by ignoring it condone it, or, by concealing it, are complicit in it.)

Change the venue to celtic park, the face to lennon’s, the weapon to an Armalite and the text to “Orange scum” and it will still be ok?

We made plenty of noise about the hanging effigies and their Flags of War banner.

The pretend tit for tat offence/outrage is all a bit pathetic from both sides and only makes it easier for the authorities to clamp down with ever more draconian measures against free speech in general.
